It's rewarding to hear that you like LibriVox enough to choose to contribute. Thanks! Anonymity is fine. And as for whether we need more readers or more listeners, I think Breefolk got it right - do what you'll be most excited to do. That will be great. If you decide to record and you're new to reco...

Although it irritates me that there are unethical people out there who will take undue credit for our recordings, we have given them license to do anything they want with our work, including be unethical. Think of all terrible ways that our recordings could be used: CDs of Romance of Rubber sold as ...

Here are mine. I hope the interview bit isn't too long. I couldn't help myself from adding some context (the Boing Boing post). How realistic does it need to be? You might find that starting with a photograph of a real phone handset and cord bent/hanging in the right way, then manipulating it from there gets you good results. Edit out the background and the handset, use a posterise effect to simplify it, etc. If you need som...

My reading of Fish may be delayed a while - the next few weeks are a whirl of work and houseguests. I thought I'd find time to get it done before the crush descended, but doesn't seem to be possible. I would be happy to put the chapter back in the unclaimed pile if someone else wants to read it or i...

Why did you use anchovies rather than garlic? Antisociability of garlic? (I've never cooked with anchovies ... partly because I use fish so little anyway, partly because I've spent much of my life cooking for vegetarians.) Some of the other dishes in my menu that night were garlic-heavy and I wante...

Section 03, Fish, is finished. So many simple, yummy, creamy fish ideas. I can imagine how painstaking that editing was. The results are terrific. It's so interesting to hear the actors/readers interacting without actually having interacted. It so often fits perfectly in ton and intonation. You might think they were on the stage together.

Nice work Paula and readers!

OK, I?ve just launched a little experimental project, let?s see how it goes.
It goes very well! Over 1500 people on the forum, dozens of completed books, poetry and short works. What a huge success.

My computer room faces one of few above-ground portions of the Marunouchi subway line in Tokyo. The trains run past every few minutes from 5 am - midnight. Rattle, rattle...wooosh. Honestly, I have stopped worrying too much. I shut the doors and windows during recording, but if there are intermitten...

Re: A Newbie in all Senses

his copyright was extended twenty years later than it would normally have expired for various reasons - most relating to his importance in the world of literature! Actually, no. It was extended mostly due to the greedy policies of corporations and governments. But don't get me started on that topic...
