With a worldwide pool of readers, you never quite know what accent you're going to get in a LibriVox book. I think that's kinda fun - other people hate it. Good thing we put these out for free! Hope you'll enjoy more books and if you want to record some, your accent (whatever it is) will be w...

No problem. Japanese pronunciation is quite regular and uses the same vowels as Italian! Ask about anything and I'll make you a recording of how it's supposed to sound.

Rehi! What a great book this is. I've read it cover to cover twice now - silently - and I'm looking forward to recording my assigned letters as soon as I get Mansfield Park (due last June!) off my list.

Not new, but returning

Hello LibriVox friends. I'm back from a long hiatus. The very noisy construction across the street has ended; my travels have wound down; and my voice is in good shape. I'm ready to record! I've really missed LibriVox. So much has been going on since I last participated - a new catalog system, score...

At 250 books/year, it will take us 72 years to complete them all. So we'll let the next generation worry about the impending shortfall of PD works. :D

I promise Buzz & Hmmmm won't "all be plosives all the time", though the first few seem to be. There are many other topics to cover and hints to share - at least as many has we have volunteers.

May I please use your text about breathing and volume in an upcoming issue?

People are tiring, indeed. Now I have a small circle of close friends who I love, but even they wear me out. Being a good friend is hard knacker! I've trained myself to be more outgoing in groups, but it's not easy and I can easily slip into my old "let me find a corner and book in the middle of thi...

I started a new thread on that topic over here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3168

I am curious about this, too. I bet there are quite a few people like us.

Isolated beginnings

There seems to be a sort of common theme among a handful of LibriVox volunteers - we grew up somewhat isolated from our peers and became avid readers in our childhoods. I was raised in a bankrupt vacation resort. I had hectares of woods, hills and lakes to play in, but there were no other children m...

Unfortunately, no. (I should be more amiable :( ) You can be very aimiable. And you meow beautifully. We ought to get together and read or do something quiet together. I grew up isolated and basically friendless, too. I know Kara has a similar experience - I wonder how many other LibriVox fo...
