Of course, although I won't return Steven's calls until he talks to his buddy to get me a guest shot on his buddy's show (I can play a dying person...)

My First Paid Gig - HALP!

Hey there, I just got offered my first paid reading job... :9: It's The Crider Chronicles by Anderson Gentry - Hard SF... Anyone know where on the 'Net I can find a plot description (a la Cliff's Notes) and character descriptions? Yes, I'll be reading the book, but, left to my own non-audiob...

MY USB Microphone/PC Woes

Okay, my turn. Just bought a Logitech standalone USB mic, due to the great reviews here (you know the one - it looks like a black noodle) and I wanna go all digital (I like the noise-cancelling feature). Anyway, I'm running XP on a 2.7 Ghz, 248M RAM Celron Presario and using a Logitech compoiste mic...

Re: ALERT! Corrected Lovecraft list

Unfortunately, that cuts the list down considerably. I'm sorry if that messes things up. -SJ I think you made a mistake; 1923 is over the line, and is in copyright. It's much harder to establish, but much of post-1922 Lovecraft is in the public domain due to non-renewals, which are a pain to check....

Can you post a sample for us to hear? I am curious about those Logitech mics. I have had one that sounded horrible (Background buzz throughout). You can listen to anything of mine, Esther - all done on one of those, no noise-cleaning. Hey russiandoll, I like, I like! So tell me, what model of Logit...

Audacity Portable

Hey there, Dunno if this is old news, but I was adding and rearranging stuff on my 2Gig thumbdrive and ran across this: http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/audacity_portable Wow, didn't know there was a protable version. DL'ded it and stuck it on the thumb drive. Small footprint and now I got A...

Hey there, My take - that kind of stuff is pretty subjective. I don't pitch my voice differently (with the PC that is) but I do use a few generated effects on my voice, depending on the story. With The Tomb , I added an effect to my voice throughout, so it sounds like it was done as a field recordin...

Hey there,

Mine was Facts Concerning The Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family for the Short Story Collection 006:

Strange because I recorded it about a week before I even heard of Librivox.

P.S. from Smokestack's Ego: Does that mean the other versions will be (unintentioally) "buried?" That's not just your ego talking - I'm concerned about that too. If someone searches for Lovecraft, or for a particular story, all of your existing stuff will turn up... but it will be a lot easier to d...

Hey John, I like the idea and website. Unfortunately, I'll have to aggree with the others. The sound quality leaves something to be desired. HOWEVER, I'm sure that's all part and parcel of getting the site on it's feet. I'm sure you guys are working on it and I'm looking forward to this project. BTW...
