I admit to editing out the Librivox thing from the beginning of all but chapter 1 of some of the books I listen to, simply for flow. I don't think it's right (even if it is legal) for anyone to make money out of a public domain project which was put together by volunteers. :x -so hopefully they won'...

I am a native English speaker, with a love of languages in general. I studied French at school, and am continuing my studies in snippets of spare time now I'm an old lady of nearly 40  I love reading aloud in French, but really don't know how it sounds to a native ear. If anyone who has french...

Long live the bird! I must see if I can get a bird thrown in with my USB mic as a package deal   Honestly, it's brilliant. I love the bird in Kara's recordings, and have spent quite some happy hours at my computer relaxing and enjoying a story while involved in what would have otherwise b...

I remember listening to something recorded by Kara (might have been the Secret Garden) and while the sound was clean, once in a while I heard the sound of a bird singing somewhere close by. It was completely delightful!

Regarding the German - I've found someone who has kindly recorded themselves reciting this piece so I have something to copy. I've done a short sample starting at the beginning of the chapter - please listen and tell me what I need to change before doing the whole thing? There does seem to be quite ...

One other thing: I would really appreciate help with the German section of this chapter. If someone would be able to record themselves reciting the following, and then post me a link to it, that will really help (otherwise I'll just have to do my best :? ) "Du Heilige, rufe dein Kind zur?ck, Ich hab...

Thank you, Heather :) I am clear on how to make the recording, and the proper protocols for beginning, ending, and preparing the file for upload - but I have no idea how to add my name to the page you mentioned. I do not have a URL. The user name I would like to use is Opheliad. Really looking forwa...

Thank you for the welcome :)

The Librivox Wiki looks like it will answer all my questions, so now to get to and record my chapter! I've chosen Villette.

Hallo from New South Wales!

Hi everyone, what a great thing Librivox is - I discovered it this year and am so very impressed. This looks like a well organised really well run forum, btw - a delight to browse.

Hopefully I will be able to contribute a chapter here and there :) :)

I have never tried anything like this before, but have enjoyed listening to many Librivox recordings over the course of this year. :D I would love to try my hand at chapter 26. English is my mother tongue, my accent is mild Australian, and my spoken French is sufficiently good for this chapter - au ...
