Re: [SOLO]My Friend Annabel Lee by Mary MacLane -ck

Sure. And I've got the 13th one in https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/myfriendannabellee_13_maclane.mp3 time index 14:50

Ye olde college try seems to be working. Hopefully I can sort out more kinks in future. (Started reading chapter 14 today on the new equipment. It's a fun one.)

Re: [SOLO]My Friend Annabel Lee by Mary MacLane -ck

I've got the 12th chapter re-uploaded. I did what I could with the volume levels and possible distortion:

https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/myfriendannabellee_12_maclane.mp3

Same time index as before.

Re: [SOLO]My Friend Annabel Lee by Mary MacLane -ck

Thanks! Just saw both were back up. I'm usually better with two going at once so if one is falling down I can cheer myself up with the other. Looking forward to (re)starting this week! :D

Re: [SOLO]My Friend Annabel Lee by Mary MacLane -ck

Hiya, i saw that you have a new solo in the launch pad, but what about this one? Hi Carolin, I know I still had this on the back burner. I could never seem to get the volume high enough to be satisfactory for new chapters. I still have non-uploaded chapters for this one but they probably will need ...

Re: (solo) Flower of The Dusk by Myrtle Reed - dc

Wow! I almost forgot about her location.

It's been a while so no one in mind is coming to me. One thing that helps a lot is discussion of what is going on in the story per chapter. It keeps my interest and focus on the work itself. Thanks for the promptness!

Re: (solo) Flower of The Dusk - Myrtle Reed

post script: I have ordered a new adapter so that I can (hopefully) use a different "device" when I record books apart from what I am doing now to record radio dramas and podcasts. (And then I might also make books at the loudness they need.)

USB Mic Suggestions

Hi! Daryl here (Yes, the "nut-job" returns...) I got a semi-new laptop with one of those inputs that "means" to be a double entendre for both headphone and microphone, but when I've tried to record to it all I get is that it is a headphone jack and nothing else. (Open mic works but that is crappy fo...

Re: Librivox Pen Pals

It is unfathomable to me that so many of us holding on to vintage, and even ancient, texts only see high tech avenues in which to currently communicate. As Marina Sirtis says on the “Mission Log” podcast: “The total lack of privacy now is very disturbing.” So I offer this choice to those who are int...

Re: 'Thank You' messages for LibriVox readers - continued

This is for an old book, but then again? It was already "old". I felt the need to thank KayRay for her reading of "Heidi" by Johanna Spyri: https://archive.org/details/heidi_solo_librivox It reads as follows: Reviewer: Ligeia DeSoto - October 5, 2017 Subject: Making Us Feel Better! I have been enjoy...

Re: Librivox Pen Pals

I just want to add to this thread: If any of you are interested in writing letters or finding pen pals? You don't have to post here. You can send me a private message. I'll let you know where to look. (Some of the methods are not based online.) I've got a whole lotta leads now and things are getting...

Re: Films better than books

I have a question on this: Is there any "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" film adaptations (I know there are likely zillions) that worked better for anyone? It's a constant juggle for me. (The story was great for my insomnia! -or am I thinking of Rip Van Winkle? ) I've seen only one: the highly ente...

Re: [SOLO]My Friend Annabel Lee by Mary MacLane -ck

Hi guys. Sorry for the delay. The volume is still a little low at 84.3dB. If you want you can use this checker tool; http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker This is what I use to check audio levels. Wow! And I was worried it was so loud that distortion was coming in. I'll work on it. Just wanted...

Re: Naming inanimate objects

All our stuffed animals have names. Then you have to name your computers or give some house or user name for them. The house we live in got a name. At first I named it Eiderdown from all the white everywhere. (People building cheap, you know. Buy all white carpeting etc since no one else wants it.) ...
