All right, I just can't resist. I scanned through some of the titles in Stephen C Foster's book on ezfolk.com, and ran across "If You've Only Got a Moustache". The name and lyrics struck me as quite funny, and my wife (a music history major) recognized the author's name immediately. She's also inte...

The first one is a very old Applachian dulcimer tune. No evidence of any copyright on the lyrics. Performances can be copyrighted-like they do for Beethoven, but the lyrics are unrestricted. I'm happy to sing/read an occasional one. Greensleeves? PD checking's going to be interesting .. or are you just going to look for PD collection's first. John Masefield did some sea shanty collections, I think, but finding the PD tunes will take some searching. I think that's going to be the hard p...

COMPLETE: The Folk Ballad Collection - SW/ce

The Folk Ballad Collection This project is now complete! You can visit the catalog page here: http://librivox.org/folk-ballad-collection-001/ After helping out with the Christmas Carol Project, I thought of a new idea. A lot of folk ballads are in the public domain but most recorded versions of the...

We also have "Here we come a wassailing" by CG. (I'll look back and figure out who that is.) Is this the track order you'd like, linda? I'll also need a brief summary. (Could be something as simple as "The Librivox community brings you a collection of traditional Christmas carols for the 2006 holid...

I'm sorry but I have to pull out from the role of CLYTEMNESTRA. I'm working on a screenplay that's due on the Jan. 7 and I just can't find time for work on this wonder project. I'm extrememly sorry.

Soon as linda says we can go (and gives me a track order), it'll be good to go! -Catharine That's terrific. Is the total time under 74 or 80 minutes with sound aif/aiff files to that it'll fit on an audio CD so I can start making CD to donate to Nursing homes, prisons, rest homes, retirement villag...

Sorry about this but What Child is This is not going to happen. It just sounds dreadful. Would it be possible to switch it to something else? Or I've noticed there seem to be a number of other people wanting to contribute. If you would rather let one of them do a song that would be fine as well. My...

BTW: I will need mp3s of everything for cataloging purposes. Linda, do you have the wherewithal to do that, or shall I take care of it?

-Catharine
You go ahead and convert it into mp3.

<head shake> Sorry. Didn't log on to LV from Thurs AM till now. This seems to be a super-fast expiration file-sending service. Would you be willing to use another service such as mediafire.com, gigasize.com (they're slow), or even the dreaded yousendit.com? -Catharine Here I got it. http://www.yous...
