Bah, that's not how you make real afghans! :P But yay, I just started on my first socks today. The 50% off sale at the craft store was a big incentive to go out and buy the double pointed needles, and the yarn. The mile walk to the craft store a bit of a downside though. Haven't started making...

When you tell yourself that you can't stop to kill your little brother, who has just managed to be given the most annoying singing rat doll ever created for Christmas, because you're too busy reading and posting on the forums.

Stephan's right, so called 'high literature' is daunting just because it is that: so called. While I'll admit that, even as an English major, I won't sit down and read Don Quioxte -I abhore the book- ,but books that I grew familiar too without such stigmata I'll enjoy readily -Moby Dick is a great e...

I like the claymore mines better. Send more of a "Stay Out" message than a password.

Thankfully, I'm already half way done with the first chapter again, and as I now know what I'm doing, it's going a lot faster. :D

Visiting relatives suck, a rant by Izze

Very rarely do relatives visit my father's abode for long during the holidays; a wise decision as no one in the house can cook, and no one in the house can stand being disturbed while working. But, coming from a large farming family (My generation is the first to not own or work on any farms since a...

I cracked up laughing when I read the title. I've never even heard of the piece, but after spending many, many, many torutous years studying German, and now putting up with my German studying roommate (she's required to know German fluently for her degree), I can truly say that I hate the German lan...

I usually knit while studying Japanese (I put on non subtitled Japanese programs on my laptop, anything in .avi that my friends will send me) and just knit. Of course, it's also to piss off my grandma for chuckles. I'm the first person in my entire family to learn how to knit. Everyone else va...

Get a tank with mechanical fish in it (I have one, it's so cool!), it will entertain nearly any cat for hours!

Of course, my cat never gives me problems, she's usually outside hunting... or in another state. (Thank you college dorms and your no cats rule! :x )

some teachers recognised that it can be easier to listen if one has something else to do, though some were clever enough to insist on 'one colour, un-patterned' pieces which could be done without having to concentrate... The teachers were right. I can never pay attention unless my fingers and occup...

I prefer the web site http://www.knittinghelp.com/, it provides video of the techniques, and a large pattern database.

I so need to get of my bum and make a pair of fuzzy socks!

But I'm still so new at knitting that I don't trust myself with anything more advanced yet.

Thanks for the advice. I won't be recording anything until January probably, I want to make sure I know what I'm doing with my mic and the recording software first. :o

*le sigh* I think I'll upgrade to OSX once I'm done with being a poor college student.
