Re: Why do we have summaries ?
I used to copy my summaries for Wikipedia, because a lot of other people seemed to do that, but I stopped because they were often spoilery and sometimes not very interesting (or completely absent, if the book was too obscure to have a wikipedia page). When I write my own summary I like something tha...

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org
Hunger by Knut Hamsun . Loosely based on the author's own life, it is a very vivid description of what it is like to be starving, unable to afford food, and the lengths you will go to to get relief. The miserable of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo are miserable because of poverty. Jean Valjean went t...

Some chapters missing readers on Felix Holt Catalogue page
On the catalogue page for Felix Holt, sections 42, 43, 44 and 46 are missing the names of their readers.
Also the readers that are present seem to be a bit mixed up - For example, sections 26 and 27 are read by two different women, but both are listed as read by Alan Brown.

Re: FULL [PLAY] The Inspector-General by Nikolai Gogol - smi
Thanks Todd ! Pugovitzyn doesn't actually have any lines, he just comes onto stage with the other police officers. So the part isn't 'read by' anyone, it's just in the cast list. (Presumably it was the perfect part to give to the friend of your rich patron, who was just so desperate to be on stage, ...

[Fixed]The Two Heroines of Where?
I'm currently listening to this book . The title on the catalogue page is: The Two Heroines of Plumpington . The title as written in the summary, and, to my ears, as read in the recording is: The Two Heroines of Plumplington . The original text is from Google books, and I don't have access to it to ...

Re: Denny Sayers has died
Such sad news. My condolences to his family.
I know I've heard his voice in quite a few things I've listened to over the years, and I'm sure I'll hear it again in the future.

I was also going to suggest it, as it is a favourite of my dad's, and I was very moved when I listened to it.
