Re: EDIT[PLAY] The Inspector-General by Nikolai Gogol - smij

Hi,

I'm hoping to have this done by the end of April. If not I will post my work-in-progress here for you to take a crack at.

Re: Internet Scavenger Hunt

Have an entire, rather disturbing, video:

I would like to see a gigantic shopping bag.

Re: Looking for Book Suggestions

Sadly Nella Larsen only wrote 2 books, but they are both amazing and powerful. They are Passing and Quicksand . Passing is my favourite, it gave me the shivers. Also I recently listened to The Golden Threshold by Sarojini Naidu, who, as well as being a poet, was also the first woman president of the...

Re: [FULL] Shakespeare Monologues Collection vol.11 -ck

Here's mine, with correct intro and outro. Sorry for the delay: https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/sm11_theravenhimselfishoarse_lkp.mp3 (Just realised I left the_128kb out of the file name, but I think you can fix that without me reuploading - if you need me to fix it, just let me know.) • Macbeth...

Re: Play Suggestions

Just to get people psyched, after The broken heart (parts available, see my signature) is close to being done, my next one will be Middleton's A Mad World, My Masters . RSC did it a few years ago and it was hailed as the funniest thing ever! Funny, satirical, witty and crude (just like the LV drama...

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

I do like it when the Staff Picks highlight lesser known writers (especially when they are from groups that are otherwise often marginalised or ignored - women, authors of colour, LGBT authors, etc) but the problem with that is since they are lesser known I don't have any suggestions to offer. So I ...

Wow, I've been linked to that video somewhere else online recently (MarkReads, I think). I didn't realise it was you! It's awesome.

Re: Happy Libriversary - February

7 Years... Actually it feels like a lot longer. And I'm not as active as I'd like to be. Hopefully this year I can get my back log of work done and get started on some new projects.

Edit: And well done everybody else!

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

And of course there is Les Miserables, which we have complete in French and English . Or if you wanted something else by Victor Hugo, we have The Hunchback of Notre-Dame/Notre-Dame de Paris in French , English and German . We also have some of his less well known works, if you want to highlight some...

Re: Your Year in Literature

A little late: All in all, I would describe last year as being: A Wrinkle in Time (by Madeleine L'Engle) I could have cried when: Things Fall Apart (by Chinua Achebe) I would love to have some respite from: The Iron Heel (by Jack London) The most unexpected thing that happened last year involved: Th...

It's not exactly obscure, but Chekhov's Three Sisters is a favourite of mine.

Re: ~[Multilingual] Shakespeare Monologues Collection vol.11

I have Lady Macbeth - The Raven himself is hoarse that I recorded several years ago, but never edited in time for the collection it was intended for. I will dig it out and submit it here. (Finally!)

Re: FULL [PLAY] The Inspector-General by Nikolai Gogol - smi

Hi Totilla, thanks for the offer, but I'd like to finish things up myself. I've been a little busy lately as I'm rehearsing for a panto, but we have a break for Christmas, and I'm off work as well, so I'm hoping I can get this finished this year.

[FIXED] Felix Holt, summary error and incorrect text link

In the summary for Felix Holt:
https://librivox.org/felix-holt-the-radical-by-george-eliot-2/

Esther Lyon's name is spelt Esther Leon.

Also, the text link is broken - it should link to: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/40882

Cheers.

(It was an excellent reading.)
