Re: What Was You First Ever Recording?
It was on hold for a long while because one of the roles was partly read by Icyjumbo, who died before completing it, and the admins were trying to decide what to do. Then, I think, there was trouble finding PD versions of the songs.

Re: Need tips when making corrections with Audacity
When I have been doing something like putting on a character voice, I will usually listen to my recording on headphones while I record and try to match my voice to the original that way. (You do have to pause the original recording when you speak though, otherwise it can get picked up by the mic.)

O Henry Memorial Short Stories Missing Author
From listening to Martin Gerrity Gets Even in https://librivox.org/o-henry-memorial-award-prize-stories-of-1921-by-various/ I learned that this particular short story had two authors: Courtney Ryley Cooper and Leo F. Creagan. However the catalogue page only shows Courtney Ryley Cooper, and searching...

Re: What Was You First Ever Recording?
Chapter 93 of Varney, the Vampyre, Vol 2, by Thomas Peckett Prest was the first section I ever claimed. (And my first prose piece submitted.) However the first sections I ever submitted were The Destruction of Sennacherib by Lord Byron and Happy the Man by John Dryden in Short Poetry Collection 76. ...

Re: mp3 player recommendations
I've got a GoGear Vibe, and while it doesn't stop after each track, it has a sleep timer, which you can set from anywhere between 1 and 99 minutes, after which the player will turn itself off. I make extensive use of this feature when listening in bed.

If you search for in the catalogue for Version N (where N is a number from 1 to 10) you can get an idea of how many books have multiple versions. It's not an exact science, as an early version may have been put on hold and not been completed. However it appears there is a 9th version of A Christmas ...

Re: [COMPLETE] The Inspector-General by Nikolai Gogol - smij
Thanks Sarah, looking good! Only thing I noticed is the genre is given as Humorous Fiction, it should probably be in Plays > Comedy > Satire as well. (And possibly also the general Satire category, I don't know if the genres given are meant to be the single one you think fits best, or all that are r...

Re: Play Suggestions
I saw that the theatre recently. It is an excellent play, and it's amazing how modern and Up-To-Date it feels considering how long ago it was written. It really sounds and feels rather like an 80's play which is set in the past, rather than a 10's play set contemporaneously.

Re: [GAME]What book is that?
I'm guessing Dracula? Buck did not read the newspapers, or he would have known that trouble was brewing, not alone for himself, but for every tide-water dog, strong of muscle and with warm, long hair, from Puget Sound to San Diego. Because men, groping in the Arctic darkness, had found a yellow meta...
