Re: [LAW] The Nature of the Judicial Process by Benjamin N. Cardozo -jo

Another great reading, about which I have just three observations. There is an extraneous noise at 1:58--perhaps something brushing against the microphone? 4:32 No lawgiver meditating (not mediating) a code of laws conceived the system of feudal tenures. 12:01 and viewed askance (should the emphasis...

Success! Section 43 is PL OK.

That completes the project on my end. It's been a pleasure working with you.

Jeff, I've corrected the pronunciation of Josephus in section 7 (at 17:54) and reposted the section for your spot PL.

Kevin, the balance of the cases in section V are posted for your review, and a start on section VI.

Section 1 is PL OK. I understand now your handling of quotation marks and won't note them again. And I am truly impressed by your pickups--they are indistinguishable from the original text, which is damned hard to do.

I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Thanks,

It does not. It still says shepherd always go before their sheep, instead of behind their sheep; the sheep did not hear him, instead of hear them; inward cognition, instead of inward cogitation; and the hireling is useful so long as he sees not the sheep, instead of the thief.

Re: [GROUP] Triumphant Democracy by Andrew Carnegie - tg

The Preface is PL OK! Michele and Tricia, I don't have access to the MW, so one of you will need to toggle it for me.

Thanks,

And section 4 (chapter 3, part 2), is here:

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/triumphantdemocracy_04_carnegie_128kb.mp3

Time on this part is 38:02. I'll PL the preface in a bit--have to move upstairs so the cat can sit on my lap.

Re: [GROUP] Triumphant Democracy by Andrew Carnegie - tg

I do know how to increase the size of text in Archive, but the Archive version has other problems that size alone won't help. I always PL my own work before posting, and will PL it using the Archive version to eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) the chances of any difference between the two...

Re: [GROUP] Triumphant Democracy by Andrew Carnegie - tg

Michele, I found the book on Google.books in a much-easier-to-read format: https://books.google.com/books/about/Triumphant_Democracy.html?id=yINCAAAAIAAJ Would it be possible to read from it instead? The Archive.org version is, as you know, difficult to see and, as far as I have been able to determi...

Thanks, Kevin. I'll have the rest of the cases in this section uploaded later this week. We're about 2/3 of the way through.

Thanks for listening,

I'll recheck section 17 later today. Did you upload a different version of section 43? I don't hear that any changes were made to it. Otherwise, I think everything else is ok. I've updated the times as I went along.
