Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

Ah looks like my speed is just not good enough. New file for section 5 including corrections is here https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/dialogomassimisistemi_05_galilei_128kb.mp3 The new duration is 23:18. But Marzia, now two "giornate" are completed! Hurrah! That's great news  I'll listen ...

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

is probably how me and Pier show our love for Galileo... we'd like everything to be perfect. Emanuela So, Emanuela, since your love (and also your fear to make something wrong provoking Galileo' reaction :( ), in assigning roles, you have to be Salviati :) . So only Simplicio character remains for ...

My two cent on that matter:

it's seems to be a very academic discussion, fitting to the topic of the book itself
So which role would you assume? I propose Sagredo, as "arbitrator".

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

Pier So I can suggest that for him the correct feminine form was "leggiere". But we are being more than pernickety... Emanuela Emanuela it's fine. I told already that I am also perfectly happy :D with leggiere! And I agree we (me especially) have already been too pernickety! No need to go along wit...

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

Very good, Emanuela, one more section well done! :9: just the suggestion to verify two small points: - 6:38 , pag 149, 7 lines before end of page “ in qualunque luogo voi la posaste ”. It seems to me to hear almost " pesaste " instead of “posaste”. - 10:37, pag 151, 3rd line from the top: “ quanto l...

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

I checked further about “materie leggieri” and my opinion is that even if “materie leggiere” sounds much better to a modern Italian ear, “materie leggieri” is not wrong and is correctly written in our edition of the book. Buy the way “leggere” is more usual in modern Italian, but “legg i ere” still ...

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

Emanuela, Also to me the adjective "leggieri" sounds strange in this context :hmm: , but I'll make as well some further checking and let you all know my conclusions. I'll listen to your section as soon as possible, this morning I hope ( but I have some other commitments in the morning), or anyway to...

Re: [ITALIAN / Science] Dialogo dei massimi sistemi by Galilei - availle

[/quote]There is only one little point I am not quite sure that I understand right: Se la nota è molto breve si può anche leggere in continuazione al testo senza dire inizio e fine. Do I understand this right that you read very short footnotes without "Footnote .... end of footnote"? I have never he...
