Re: Greetings from Hollywood
Hi Michele, I am quite late checking in on this thread, for that I apologize. I never got email notice that a new post was made, it was just a fluke that I decided to check old posts tonight. I really like your origami idea, with it the recording info and track line-up has breathing room (unlike my ...

Re: New! Volunteer CD Covers! - cont.
I agree Anne. In any bookstore (or library) history section (especially political history) you'll see the same tired historical portrait used on dozens of different book covers. I guess that's why I'm not too keen on historical portrait covers either. "Pretty flowers," now that would make ...

Re: New! Volunteer CD Covers! - cont.
Hi Sonia, First, my many thanks for your kind words. Upon seeing the book's title and nothing more, I formed an instant idea of how I thought the cover should look, THEN I read the synopsis  - no, the book didn't quite adhere to my vision of the cover, but I stubbornly stuck to the initial idea...

Re: New! Volunteer CD Covers! - cont.
Thank You! It's great to see all the different covers together in one place, and such a beautiful mix of styles, so many creative people here. All the covers make for good reference too. Yea, my mac plays differently (its a rebel), I'll have to experiment with hotkeys. Meantime, I better get started...

Re: Greetings from Hollywood
My sincere thank you to you both! I've already started work on the cover of 'On Virginity' - it's given me a chance to do some hand-rendered Victorian-esque lettering so it proves to be a fun project. I didn't see any cover templates for Photoshop, so I'm using a standard CD template from a record l...

Re: Any Authors out there?
I published a book of dark poetry - 'SHE OF THORN' - which surprised me by hitting #17 on Amazon's '100 Best Sellers: Love poems' a week later  (and I'm not sure they can be called "love" poems :hmm: !). I have a second volume sitting in the wings, but I kinda lost my steam in getti...

Greetings from Hollywood
Hello to all. I guess you could say I'm in the minority here as I signed up not to read (dyslexia gets the better of me on that point) but to design covers (I'm a graphic artist/illustrator by trade) - which is a bit ironic considering I'm based in Hollywood, California, ha! I listen to LibriVox boo...
