Re: nice mention in youtube video
Hello All, Back after a very long time away. Real life kicked me and will not have time to post, more than this post. I had some difficulty getting the YouTube video to play at first, gosh darn internet. Young James, of Odd1sOut, is a funny fellow. What a great free mention for this site (6:00 min m...

Thank you and pleased that the story made it into the list for the project. Lol, I guess we are our own worst critics.

That was cute, not smarmy cute but child showing adults the magic of innocence type of cute. She is certainly a tad apart from others her age and obviously had wonderful support from her family and friends. Here's hoping she reaches her potential. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for late reply. Breathtaking scenery, and it would certainly be an uplifting background noise.

Good to know that you've created your own card. Avery seems to have good selection of offerings. About pdfs, yes you have to an editor. There are a few free ones but I don't know enough to suggest.

Re: Comfort Sounds
I read your blog post and have to say, I know what you mean about the music in the Mexican restaurant being "off". I went to a Japanese eatery a few years ago. I had to tell the new owners, once I figured out who they were and say that they should really consider changing the music from he...

Now I too am curious as to whether the original poster mightyfelix followed through with a LibriVox business card. Interesting idea indeed.

Re: I have a public library card...
I got a membership with the Fairfax Library (http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library/). I checked a couple of libraries with similar offers, but Fairfax seemed to have the largest overdrive offering. (Overdrive is the database most libraries use for ebooks & audiobooks). :) [You have to fill-in th...

Re: For Louisa May Alcott fans
I am wary of any attempt to place on film such a beloved and classic series. Mind you, maybe the Brits will do a better casting, and mood. Here's hoping!

“I think myself I ought to be shot for writing such nonsense.... But it's unquestionably good escapist literature and I think I should rather like it if I were sitting in an air-raid shelter or recovering from flu.” ― Georgette Heyer Her novels are my standby. I had not read this quote of hers unti...

Re: How to pronounce "LibriVox?"
Since LibriVox is a made up Latin-ish word of 'Liber" book and "vox" (which I think was a brilliant construct by Hugh!) I pronounce it Lee - bree Vox, the Lee to sound like bee and the Vox to sound like Socks or Pox. I was wondering about this! Thank you and I shall pronounce it Lee ...

Hahaha, yep only a few kilometres as shown on a map...when viewed on a mobile phone. Better still, Ontario has been called "East" by a few folks whom I chat with and oh the fun with that pronouncement. btw - How far back is considered "polite" to revive topics? For instance, ther...

Another Canadian enters the forum.
Look, look! Yet another Canadian from British Columbia’s lower mainland. :) Considering how lovely this province is, when not covered by unusual snowfall, it is a wonder that any of us are bookworms. About me - close to retirement age, work part time in the dental field. I am still capable of hackin...
