Re: Inquiring if Something is Public Domain

COOL! Thanks Devora! That is awesome. I would like to BC it and get it started soon so there’s a decent chance of completing it by the centenary in May, but since you have already done this legwork I will be happy to defer to you. Thank you for sharing the info and for digging up that email! Colleen

Re: Inquiring if Something is Public Domain

I guess I'm hoping if I find the right person at the Oklahoma history organization, they'll be able to send me an email that says, yup, totally public domain, have at it.

Re: [HISTORY] The Great Events by Famous Historians, Volume 5 - icequeen

I'm working on editing recordings of section 5 and 6 currently, and just noticed that the title in the MW is incorrect -- it's Alfred the Great, not Albert. Alfred aside: In my world history 101 college class, I learned about Alfred for the first time, and for whatever reason, as the professor intro...

Gah. In that case I will try to make contact with the archives and get some determination from them.

Thanks!

Inquiring if Something is Public Domain

I am interesting in BC-ing a recording of the 2001 report from the Oklahoma Commission to Study the Race Riot of 1921, located here: https://www.okhistory.org/research/forms/freport.pdf I'm pretty sure it is in the public domain, since it's the report of a state commission and a government-published...

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 078 - jo

I would like to read the testimony of Dr. Olivia Hooker, a retired law professor and survivor of the Tulsa-Greenwood Massacre of 1921, from a Congressional hearing on a reparations bill that took place in 2007. I would call it "Testimony of Olivia Hooker, survivor of the 1921 Tulsa-Greenwood Race Ri...

Re: OPEN Short Poetry Collection 209 - rap

Here are my three entries for this month. I did two by a woman poet (Stella Benson) and one is ghostly, appropriate for the season. But I couldn't resist including a Halloween poem, by a man (Joel Benton) since it's the proper season for it. Hallowe'en by Joel Benton (1832-1911) https://librivox.org...

Can I just say that Captain Sparkle is making me giggle every time I see it? Doesn't really strike fear into the heart, makes me think more of pride parades and drag queens!

Colleen
Or maybe Captain Jack Sparrow's alter ego?
Oh I love that!
