Re: OPEN[PLAY]Don Garcia of Navarre, or The Jealous Prince by Moliere - thw

With the exception of the recent Johnson biography play, which had a separate cast list for each act in the printed script, I only do a single cast list for the entire play. So “Act 1”, “Act 2”, etc in the voice credits is not appropriate. (The MW is set up with a section per act so that you don’t ...

Re: 1-minute test: too much reverb with new setup?

Yes, Kurt, there is a ton of reverb... And some don't mind that. As a listener, I do cringe at too much noise. It usually makes my listening strained rather than relaxed. Reverb does not have the same effect on me, at least. That said, if you could make it at least somewhat drier, it would be much ...

1-minute test: too much reverb with new setup?

I've been recording for Librivox for some time on my Zoom H1, standing in my clothes closet. I'm trying to start recording in my office, and bought a Shure SM58 mic which has better reverb rejection than my H1. If somebody could give some feedback whether this snippet recorded with my SM58 in my off...

[The sweat drips down his forehead...]
I haven't been around much lately, and I'm shocked the lead is still unclaimed. With a bit of angst, I would like to claim the Role of Don Garcia. This will be a stretch for me, patience and tolerance please.

Re: [PLAY] An Ideal Husband, Oscar Wilde - kit

I would like to butcher the part of: Vicomte de Nanjac with my horrendous French accent. Je vous fais toutes mes excuses. --Kurt p.s. BTW, I noticed in my first line what I believe to be a digitization error. The text says "queue suprise", but it must certainly be "quelle surpise", and that's how I'...

Ready for PL. A little sibilance, even though I applied a de-esser. Let me know if it's objectionable.

They are also easily fixable: (thanks to our friend Rapunzelina for this tip): Run a high pass filter over the file (with the frequency set to 300 and the Rolloff to 12dB. You may wish to check your amplification after you do this. If it alters your recording too much, then just undo (ctrl-z) and h...
