Re: OPEN - [DR] Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott - rap

Hi, just checking in because it has been awhile but I hope to get back to recording this month and start submitting my files for the Black Knight soon. So sorry for the delay.

Re: OPEN - [DR] Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott - rap

I hope to start reading the Black Knight soon! Looking over the song in Ch. 17 and the 'Lord Randal' tune as inspiration (there are so many versions of this song!), I was just trying to work out the melody on the piano and uploaded a quick, unlisted video: https://youtu.be/y1sxjCc5VQ4 Hopefully this...

Re: OPEN [Play]The Honeymoon by John Tobin - rr

Hi Scotty, PL Okay for acts 2,3 and 5. For act 1 at 1:16, please change "she " to "it" in "...that it goes not backward." since the text is referring to the courtship, not the person. Also, at 1:56 please change what I hear as "pions" to "pious" in ...

Re: Can I use Ableton software, instead of Audacity?

Yep, as long as you end up with a mono mp3 at constant bit rate of 128kb per second, 44,100 hertz sample rate. I thnk using the DAW your familiar with is probably the most efficient anyway, at least to start. Many of us here don't use Audacity. The checker program is highly recommended though becaus...

Re: OPEN[PLAY]Lady Bountiful by Pinero - thw

I would have one suggestion for Act 2 however: > at 6:11 : (p. 89) "our lower-class friend is very h 'less." - you say " hue -less", I'd rather think it should be " aitch " or " haitch "-less, meaning he is dropping the letter 'h' in words (as he did in "...

Re: OPEN[PLAY]Lady Bountiful by Pinero - thw

I forgot that I was going to mention for Roderick, Act 2, at one point he drops silver onto a tray and I added that sound effect at that point just in case it is useful.

Great microphone deal: Sterling Audio P30

It is the season of sales, I guess, and I just thought I would mention a fantastic deal for a decent XLR mic currently on sale for $35 (regularly $90). Guitar Center has its own audio brand called Sterling Audio and their active dynamic mic, the P30, is surprisingly decent. When they were on sale la...

Re: [DR] Ivanhoe, by Sir Walter Scott

If not premature, I'd love to read the Black Knight/King Richard.
Looks like an awesome, meaty project!

Thanks much!
