SPANISH translation FINISHED

Gypsygirl, or whoever is managing the Spanish page, I've finished translating. I didn't go over the whole translation; I only took over where the last translator left off. It would be a good idea to have a separate set of eyes take a look at it and proofread my work. I need a little distance for now...

As I implied earlier, it's been years since I lived in Mexico, and sometimes my phraseology gets a little warped, so if it's something like that, go ahead and make the change. On the other hand, we're not necessarily going for a particular country's Spanish (don't have to pull out the Diccionario d...

At this time I only translate sporadically, as I don't have that much spare time, so have at it on the sections of the page that say "TRANSLATE HERE" And I always welcome a proof-reader on what I've already translated, since I left Mexico before getting into computers, so I never know if ...

Yes, thanks. I figured it out eventually and sent her an email. I'm waiting for her response so I can get down to it. Thank you.

No he visto nada de Julio Verne o Alejandro Dumas, en especial "Los tres mosqueteros" y "El conde de Montecristo". También me extrañó no encontrar "La historia del Abencerraje y la hermosa Jarifa". Esos sólo son unos de los cuantos me recuerdo en este momento. No he leí...

I don't know if you're still looking, but I could do a bit of Spanish translating. I don't know how much time I can commit, but I'll do my best. Let me know.

macandal - we did have a separate-to-LV translation project runnning for a while ... this WOULD be a marvellous addition to it, should it start up again. Cori, thanks. I went to that link and posted that I would be interested in translating. I found a translation of Bruno Schulz's works into Spanis...

English or Spanish?

What are the chances of bringing this into English or Spanish? I love this book and would contribute to one or both.

None, right? (Too bad.)

Nothing. Check this out. I don't see anything there. You'd think wikisource would require something to acknowledge the "creator" of the work?

If only wikisource listed the source document. Why don't they do that? If I could go to the source document I could see what the actual rights are.

I like the version in Wikisource Spanish. That one appears to be more modern. The problem is that they don't list the source, but, if it is in Wikisource it's good to go, right? Beware, though. Not everything on Wikisource is in the Public Domain. Many have Creative Commons licences of varying sort...

It's always the problem of finding the texts online, or in a local-ish library (probably a University library rather than town libraries, though sometimes they surprise you.) I'd recommend finding some online book sources IN Spanish, and then browse to see what's available within them. (Is this Cer...

Regarding the books originally written in Spanish - anything published before 1923 is in the Public Domain in the USA and so would be just fine for you to record. I suspect that finding translations (published before 1923) of English/French works, is going to be rather more difficult. As I don't re...
