Re: Favorite Literary Quotes (short ones!)

"Monseignor, you believe in making use of everything, but this fourth plot is wasted. Salads are more useful than flowers." "You are wrong, replied the bishop. "The beautiful is as useful as the useful." Then, after a pause, he added: "More so, perhaps." ( Les Mise...

I would be up for another one. Here is the forum thread for the last one, if anyone is curious to see how it went down before. viewtopic.php?t=80269

Re: Favorite Literary Quotes (short ones!)

I heard this one today. Isn't it beautiful? I might need to read this book.

"It is the memory of time that makes us old; remembering eternity makes us young again."

Re: FULL- [DR] The Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain - mtf

Thanks, Krista! I missed the cast list post, so thanks for pointing it out. You don't have the ability to delete the extra sections, so I'll take care of that for you. (Since there's no way to recover a deleted section, that capability is restricted to admins to cut down on the potential for big oop...

Re: FULL- [DR] The Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain - mtf

Great work! Just a few details to check off before I can catalogue this. Please rearrange all the sections that we need to keep at the top of the MW in the proper order. It looks like you're close, you just need to shuffle those top ones down a ways. And then I will need a cast list from you. Here i...

Aww, well I'll try not to keep you in suspense any longer than I can help! :) Yes, I do feel so bad for her at the end of this chapter. Poor thing. And by the way, the event went well. It was the big annual fundraiser for the nonprofit I work for. Not quite as successful as last year, and there seem...

Re: [SOLO]But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes by Anita Loos-mtf

Moving us to Going Solo!

Mostly I've been listening to lots of Shakespeare recently. But also some Euripides, some Jane Austen, Dracula... When there's a DR available, I usually choose it over a solo or other group project.

Re: [SOLO]But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes by Anita Loos-mtf

Ok, you are ready to go! Also, I hope you don't mind if I take a moment for a personal note to MB. I think this is the first time I've run across you on the forum, but I've been listening to lot of DRs recently, and really enjoying your performances in each of them. :D It's nice to finally "mee...

Re: [SOLO]The Marquis of Lossie, MacDonald-mtf

Bonus chapter, yay! 62 is ready. Just ten chapters to go, I can't believe it. I have also been pondering over a book summary that will avoid spoilers for the first book. I will go ahead and add it to the first post. Let me know what you think.

Re: [SOLO]The Marquis of Lossie, MacDonald-mtf

And wow, I had enough down time this morning that I was able to finish 61! Tonight is the big event I have been getting ready for, and it just didn't occur to me that I might have free time on the morning leading up to it! So three chapters this week turned out to be doable after all! A...

Re: [SOLO]The Marquis of Lossie, MacDonald-mtf

Chapter 60 is uploading. In this one, I noticed that the phrase "good mine" appears where "gold mine" might make more sense. So I double checked two other editions (Gutenberg and an 1877 edition on archive), and they both say "gold." So I decided to use that.
