Re: [FULL] DR - The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, Baum - ke

I'm impressed with how quickly this came together! At four and a half months, that must be something like a record, for a DR! Great job, everyone, and especially Linny, for coordinating such a successful project. I look forward to hearing it!

Re: [Group - Multilingual] LibriVox 13th Anniversary - tg

I read through the first few pages (ahem, Acts) before posting, and I thought it was marvelous.

My mother likes pirates, too.... I wonder if we had any piratical ancestors, way back when.... :hmm:

Re: FULL[PLAY]Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas - thw

How soon is this project likely to complete? Well, they're still waiting on stage directions from me for acts 2 and 3. 2 is recorded, and 3 has barely begun to be recorded. Stage directions in this play are a monster. Much of the humor seems to be slapstick, so it makes sense, I guess, that you nee...

Re: [children/wwi] The Blue Aunt by Eliza White -ck

Chapter 11: 2:07 "K-A-T" This is optional, but I would recommend saying the letters here, not just articulating the sounds. The point of this dialogue, I think, is the proper spelling of the word "cat," so I think reading the letters makes more sense. There is a long pause (about 3-4 seconds) at abo...

Oh, I forgot to mention, but there was one line in there (Mizzle) that I gave you two versions of. I couldn't decide which one I liked, so I just decided to let you decide!

Re: [children/wwi] The Blue Aunt by Eliza White -ck

I will try to do these PLs tomorrow. I should have time, I just hope I don't forget. Maybe somebody should PM me a reminder.

I'm leaving town for a week on Tuesday, so if I don't get PL these tomorrow, they'll be waiting for some time.

Re: About Arabic books

Arabic books would need to follow the same process as recording in any other language. Specifically, the most important requirement is that the source you are reading from must clearly be in the public domain. In the US, that means works that were published in 1922 or earlier. (There are some except...

Re: Woven of love and glory by Barr, Amelia Edith Huddleston

Even better than American history, this concerns TEXAS history! Remember the Alamo!!!

For some reason, even the most apathetic Texans seem to get excited about the Alamo. :D I almost want to do this one myself. Ugh, so many books on the list, though.

Polynesia is entirely PL ok! Great work, Beth, that was a challenging role! That's one parrot with quite a lot to say! She's certainly a mover and shaker in this story!
