Well, I asked in the forums specifically how to read it, and the discussion mentioned ' as being feet in certain contexts. I must have just remembered the last bit and not the beginning of the conversation. I will eventually change those, but I'd like to focus most of my energy on finishing the book...

Nuts. I just recorded 43. So I have 43, I don't have 42? (I realize this is making you answer your own question, but I think you may have better access to the answer than I do.)
