Re: Giriş of the Mesnevi (Cilt 1) in Multilingual Poetry Co

The copyright notice isn't for the texts -I guess it's for the layout etc-, but according to my research that translation still doesn't fulfill LV criteria: Veled Çelebi İzbudak, (ö. 1953) Mesnevî'nin tamamını nesir olarak tercüme etmiştir. İlk olarak, dönemin Maarif Bakanı Hasan Ali Yücel'in teşvik...

Re: Giriş of the Mesnevi (Cilt 1) in Multilingual Poetry Co

Merhaba Carolin,

That's from Veled Chelebi's translation. Although it's all over the internet, if I may, I want to seize the opportunity to promote the Mesnevi site I'm volunteering for: http://www.mesnevi.org/3/50/tur/1/1/

Giriş of the Mesnevi (Cilt 1) in Multilingual Poetry Collec

Hi, "Giriş of the Mesnevi (Cilt 1)" in Multilingual Poetry Collection 020 is listed as English but it's in Turkish. Also the e-text link points to another text from the same collection (La luna y la muerte), which is also broken. https://librivox.org/multilingual-poetry-collection-020-by-v...

Re: computer auto muting

I had a similar problem with the speakers and it turned out the problem was with the mute key, although there was no visible damage. Before you resort to more heavy-handed measures like reinstalling Windows etc, I would advise checking the keys more carefully. You can check the keys pressed on this ...

Re: Readiance

Before I build a interface you can test your recordings by uploading them here: https://readiance.org/node/add/public-timed-text Make sure to choose a username that ends with "-librivox", e.g. ozdefir-librivox. If you do that, in the timedtext pages you will see a "PT Scan" link ...

Re: Readiance

For example, in this one the reader* omits a subsentence ("so they thought they were quite safe") : https://readiance.org/audio-quote-search?phrase=when+they+were+all+ready Without that part the sentence is still grammatically and semantically correct, so there's no hint for a proof-listen...

Re: Readiance

I added a quote search feature which also helps to bookmark recordings at the position of the query: https://readiance.org/audio-quote-search?phrase=When+I+see There are a couple of glitches but it mostly works fine. tovarisch, I used to think proof-listeners always check the recordings against the ...

Re: Project Gutenberg mirrors and Internet Archive server li

Hi MaryAnn, I'm glad it's useful. The advantage of gutenberg.org is that it's single click. If it's not a temporary problem you can email the PG support at "help2016 (at) pglaf.org". Even if they can't find an immediate solution, they will be able to identify the problem easier once there ...

Here is the list. Re: Project Gutenberg mirrors and Internet Archive server li

David (dlolso21) asked me about the bad PG links, but it seems as a new user I'm not allowed to reply to PMs so I post it here. The problem is with the PG links that have file names with letters. Like so: http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext02/1jrcl10.txt (from https://librivox.org/the-junior-classic...

Project Gutenberg mirrors and Internet Archive server links

When there are connection issues with the main PG site (gutenberg.org), you can use the mirrors that are hosted by libraries and universities as listed here: http://www.gutenberg.org/MIRRORS.ALL They don't have catalogue search so you need to locate the book folders based on the PG number as describ...

Re: Readiance

Hi, I'm Readiance's developer. I'm glad you guys find it useful. To answer tovarisch's question, although speech recognition could help with finding major editing errors I don't think it could be a total replacement for proof listening, that is, if you want to find the errors at word level. You woul...
