Re: LibriVox productivity and spoiler avoidance

Love this post. I saw the Avengers on Friday and then again on Saturday (with husband first, then with husband and daughter). I completely understand your desire to avoid spoilers in general and for that movie in particular. Glad you found a nice place here at Librivox :)

Still here...sort of. I am out of the country for 6 months for work. Will have to slip my completion date to Summer 18.

Re: [FICTION] Mabel Ross, The Sewing Girl -jo

I have not forgotten you and have not abandoned this project ;)

I expect it won't be until after Sept that I can give recording time to this but I still plan/hope to meet my 31 Dec goal for the book being done.

Re: Problem Creating a Mono Track Using Studio One 3

Using the S1 MP3 plug in, I also could not get the MP3 accepted by Librivox. I know Don Baarns (the S1 guru for voice actors) has said the MP3 conversion process in S1 is different than the LAME one (btw-no idea what that actually means, just repeating stuff). Maybe that difference is the trouble. M...

Re: Hello! And fatigue question

Another idea: there are short story collections you could contribute to. On your own time, you pick and record a short story (sci-fi, ghost, etc- there are lots of collections). Then you just add it to whichever collection (50, 51, etc) that is open at the time. All on your own schedule, no deadline...

Whoops... didn't realize it is so long since I posted. I have recorded another chapter (or two?) but want to get a few more done before uploading.

Re: Hello from a willing volunteer and avid audiobook listen

Welcome Alex! If you want to feel good about the work Librivox does, check out the thank you thread. For some people, Librivox really is the only way to experience books - it also helps many through bad times. It is very inspiring to read that thank you thread and know that you are a part of somethi...

Re: New Reader from the DC area - come say hi!

Hi Scout, I am in the DC area too! Started with Librivox in Dec 15 and just love it. I have also moved into commercial audiobook narration and full cast audio productions and love those too! People here are very helpful and friendly - feel free to ask questions. BTW - my tip is to read the "Need Hel...
