For Maggie’s info...

Now that the word counts are in, you can estimate finished recording time. FWIW 140 words per minute is a good baseline. 3,500 words is 25 minutes. It will take you anywhere from 2 times to 10 times the finished time to record and edit your section.

Welcome! You're the second Claflin person I have see introduce him/her self here. Is Claflin encouraging Librivox participation or did you hear about us in a certain class?

Re: New Member

Welcome! You are in luck! There is a lot of nonfiction on Librivox. Political things as well. I contributed to the state of the union recordings and the recent investigation into Russian interference in the US election. I am sure you will find lots to interest you.

Hi Kambria!

Welcome to Librivox! Are you a student at Claflin now? We had a residence hall at my college named Claflin but I don’t know who it was named after.

Hi Katie,

Welcome and nice to see you here. Are you planning to record? Do you want to read stories or act a character in dramas?

Re: New here! From Michigan

Right there with you! I also love the pulpy sci-fi from the 20s-60s. They often have surprise endings actually.

Have you read/listened to any Anna Katherine Green? I like her mysteries.

Not AKG, but I also really loved Lady Audley’s Secret.

Re: New here! From Michigan

Welcome to Librivox!

Yep, I am a reader too. What I have found amazing is how many good public domain books are out there to be recorded! One can get overwhelmed by choice.

What genres do you like reading?
