Re: The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer (Middle English) dc

Very hot here too - global warning. Sorry about this, but the news is that I have a low white blood cell count and they have to check me out for leukaemia. Anyway it makes me tired and irritable and lowers concentration and gives me memory lapses and a perpetual sore throat - in short, unideal for r...

Re: Request for more LGBT content

There's this:

This doesn't appear to be in the catalogue. PD in the USA it says and often mentioned side by side with The Sins of the Cities of the Plain. Part attributed to Oscar Wilde. Nobody knows for sure.

Re: The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer (Middle English) dc

Got a great new diagnosis for my tiredness which might mean taking vitamins or might mean something rather more serious. Waiting for blood tests. In the meantime, I'd rather not pack into the Tales until I know I can get on to the end. So I'll leave this pending for now. Will let you know as soon as...

This doesn't seem to have been done yet as a Solo - The Country of the Blind and Other Stories. Includes The Red Room and The Door in the Wall. www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/11870 All the Big Ones have been done two or three times but that doesn't mean you can't do another - choice of voice as they say h...

Re: Elia's Essay by Charles Lamb

I like your enthusiasm. I read the Last Essays for Librivox - in fact, go listen. And he has been likened to my favourite writer, Avram Davidson, whose Adventures in Unhistory are essays on fantastical subjects. However, I'm too damn tired to do anything, probably for the rest of this year at least....

Re: [SOLO] Daemonologie by King James I - icequeen

O, just a Dead White Male reference. With the additional factor that this one is a King. Like, how retro can you be? DAEMONOLOGIE. I mean. At the same time, Shakespeare captured the trauma of these beliefs in a work that is still popular today - the schizophrenia, if you will. James never wrote the ...

Not such a supercalifragilisticexpialicampish production as it might be. At least in my opinion.

Yes, I had a guy who said of his piece 'Was that echo-ey?' It was. Transitioning from one home to another he was camping out in a National Trust property - no carpet. Did diminish the echo effect with Noise Reducing from a particulary echoey section a few times - but you cna't get rid of it. If you'...

Just a brief update. Getting over bronchitis so going slow - more to the point, got an odd problem with the machine where only the 5 and 6 of the numbers actually work. This puts a bit of a crimp in Amplification work in Audacity - use of numbers. Tried a dozen or so fixes so far, turns out it's qui...

Re: [Weekly Poem] Song: Eternity of Love Protested

I have a curious problem. Since my last Windows update, the numbers, but for 5 and 6, have ceased to operate on my machine. Hmm. Glad to have this problem solved - found a solution on the Net to exactly that, tap Alt button five times swiftly and, amazingly, it didn't work. So now in this specific c...

Re: [SOLO] Daemonologie by King James I - icequeen

Many thanks for the accolade. Mutual admiration is a lot of what thie working system is about. Anticipate the long Tilney parody Go-thick storytelling with Catherine on the way to Northanger - though my DPLer on that said, "Best John Thorpe I ever heard!" As Eddie Murphy said of his Donkey (not -ote...
