Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

Albany's only line in 1_1 is "Dear sir, forbear!" which he shares with Cornwall. Do we both say all three words, or do we split it up--one of us saying "Dear sir!" and the other "Forbear?"

Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

Sonia, you say in the King of France's last two sentences he sounds patronizing, but you added a laughing face. So, is patronizing good or bad? lol
I suppose since he's giving his bride-to-be orders, perhaps patronizing works.

Thanks for the compliments on my various voices :D

In that case, maybe it's not melodramatic enough!

Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

Silly me, after asking the question about the file name, I went ahead an uploaded it before getting an answer, and I picked the wrong one. Oh well, I changed the name and uploaded it again. Here is that file, plus all my small roles. I'll get onto Albany and Kent in the next few days. https://libriv...

Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

I'm getting ready to do some of my small roles now. You (kitty, that is) said that my voice credits file should be "kinglear_0_shakespeare_128kb" but I noticed that you did yours as "kinglear_voice-credits_0" I did it the way you did it, but I can change it before uploading it if you prefer. I was c...

Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

"I noticed a lot of my characters are dying before the play is over." On the other hand, only one of my characters dies, but he's only in one scene. I'll be reading two of the major characters, Kent and Albany. And of the entire play's major characters the only other survivor is Edgar. So I'm two-th...

Re: [SOLO] The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens-icequeen

Still having microphone issues. At least with the new one. The old one is literally in pieces, with the left speaker dangling by a wire. But impatient to get back to the project, I managed to tape it all back together. It looks ugly, but it's working. And I have four more chapters finally done. Brad

I have both a regular MC and PL for the Dickens projects. But I'll remember you if I ever need one. :)

Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

I should have realized something was missing. lol What should I call the file with the Dramatis personae? My completed Dickens projects so far are A Tale of Two Cities, Dombey and Son, The Pickwick Papers, Nicholas Nickleby, and the five "Christmas Books" including A Christmas Carol. Also the little...

Well, reading stage directions doesn't take long--so here's the rest of the narrator. Re: [FULL] King Lear by William Shakespeare - kit

As promised, the rest of the narrator for Act One. Waiting word on whether or not to correct my pronunciation of "Regan" in the first scene. https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/kinglear_narrator_1_2.mp3 https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/kinglear_narrator_1_3.mp3 https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/ki...
