Re: SOLO A Guide to the Lakes by Thomas West - annise

I didn't mean to suggest that the sound quality was awful, because it isn't, it's absolutely fine. I noticed a difference because, as you guessed, I listen with headphones. That's only when I'm PLing though - if it's a finished audiobook, I listen on the go and don't use the fancy kit or read the sc...

Thank you, Ann! I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but I appreciate your work.

Re: [solo] - The Wind Among the Reeds - Yeats - icequeen

Thank you so much, Pam. We've really cracked through this one! It was only launched last month! Ann, I think this can make its way over to the Internet Archive. I'm not sure what buttons you have to press, though I kind of hope it's a cool steampunk thing with lots of levers, or like something out o...

Re: [SOLO] The Duke of Marlborough by Louise Creighton - dc

Hi Pam,

Sections 17 and 18 are PL OK. She's doing a very good job of unobtrusively reminding readers of which factions were allied without losing the momentum of the narrative.

Re: SOLO A Guide to the Lakes by Thomas West - annise

There are a few notes for 13 and 14. Where I've rapped you across the knuckles I've tried to put why I think the probability is in favour of one thing rather than the other, but if it's not clear please ask! I realised that none of my artist mates are oil painters. We're all missing out on this very...

Re: SOLO A Guide to the Lakes by Thomas West - annise

Peter, that is really cool! I just assumed that surviving ones were the be all and end all of the matter and that if none of my artistically minded friends used them other artists wouldn't either. Thank you for turning up such an unexpected side light!

My last one for the month. Thank you again for raising the limit. It's been brilliant! Re: [solo] - The Wind Among the Reeds - Yeats - icequeen

Pam - I'm very glad indeed you're enjoying this, especially given the forgotten authors I normally make you listen to. I think 35 is probably the most famous one of the bunch, so you saying you like stuff before that is very nice! Ann - I've edited the first post so that it has a summary and keyword...

Re: SOLO A Guide to the Lakes by Thomas West - annise

Sections 9 and 10 are PL OK.

I had a very quick look on ebay (where else?) for a Claude glass. There is a lot of other stuff listed under that name, as is also the case for black mirrors. Perhaps it's possible to find one if you really winnow it. They can't all have vanished into thin air!

Re: SOLO A Guide to the Lakes by Thomas West - annise

Ha! It doesn't surprise me that Wordsworth's long. He could go on a bit when the mood took him! Are you a bit of a completist? I ask because I tend to be. I'm not sure what else is in your queue or where you want to wander next! I thought this was recorded on a different set up, but it's all one so ...
