Re: Short stories (Early works 1837-1852) - Gaskell-mas

It's being a bit temperamental and not letting me see that google book page, but I'm looking at the passage on Adelaide and I assume it's the same mishmash. Yes, that did seem a bit confusing when I heard it. My best guess is that because it's about two women, the use of 'she' is where the confusion...

Two notes for section 8:

9.53-9.56, repetition
…(the land went- the land went to Johnnie of course)…

10.30-10.37, repetition
…and by-and-by, perhaps, some farm might be to l- some farm might be to let, within their means.

One note for section 17:

20.21, p. 295, antepenultimate line
And she [heard he]

Pierre Janet sounds good. I don't know his work at all, so this would be a good chance to learn!

Hi Pam,

The last one (March, tricky little thing) is ready for PL. It's 22 of 66 in the pdf.

Re: SOLO - The Late Mattia Pascal by Pirandello - dc

Chapter 16 is PL OK.

All best wishes for the play!

As this is nearing its conclusion, do you have another project already in mind and if so, would you like me to PL?

Hi Phil, By all means, go with your gut and/or training. If the linguist in you wants to go for the clicks, and the narrator in you wants to use the voice you've been using, do it. I liked that video, though I'm sure I'll have forgotten everything in it by the time I might be called upon to pronounc...

Re: Short stories (Early works 1837-1852) - Gaskell-mas

Note for section 9 – 13.06, omission …black as the raven’s wing, [and they found me in the morning] as you now behold me! As for the problematic internet connection, I don't know what to tell you. I wish I did! Sometimes I have to resort to using a dongle. (Is this where I say 'back in my day...'?) ...

Hi Pam,

Section 16 is PL OK. The illustrations aren't always the ones I was expecting. That one of Albert was dashing!

Re: Solo - On a Grey Thread - Elsa Gidlow - dl

Hi David, No problem at all! This project has only just launched and really wasn't going anywhere in a rush. I'm sort of relieved that it was still being set up - when I looked at it, it felt like one of those really dull dreams that are just an extension of waking life. It's sort of comforting that...

Re: Short stories (Early works 1837-1852) - Gaskell-mas

Section 3-7 are spot PL OK! I'm in transit tomorrow, so if you don't hear from me it's not for lack of interest. Gaskell is great and I want to listen! A stupid question - is the uploading to do with the speed? If so, and this is a big series of ifs, if you have eduroam set up, would it be possible ...
