Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

so much good info. thank you again, Devorah. I'm so excited to try all of this and have less editing to do!

I'm gonna duck out now, but thank you thank you! maybe next time I'll have actually figured out my twitch account nonsense. somehow.

Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

this is so awesome! it's a little different to the method I used to use in GarageBand, but it seems way way easier than just recording straight through all the mistakes and having to edit it down later on. thanks so much for the demonstration/tutorial. I just tried it out myself, and it looks like y...

Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

what was the initial keyboard shortcut for punch-and-roll again? could you show how you modified the shortcut, too?

Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

so weird... it sent me a password reset email, but it isn't actually letting me reset it. just error messages forever.
I have your channel open now though, so we can get started. that sounds more fun than fighting with the interface all night.

Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

I'll try to set up a twitch account now! (surprisingly "plaidsicle" as a username is unavailable, which is leading me to suspect I have an account but forgot about it.... who else would use my handle??)
anyway, hopefully I can figure it out quickly.

Re: The Arte or Crafte of Rhethoryke, by Leonard Cox-mas

you're amazing, Jordan. I knew I was getting tired halfway through this, and I could hear all the deep & mushy confusion in every pause when I went back through to edit. I'll get the edits for section 10 (a much shorter section) and the fixes for this one done hopefully within the month! I'm wonderi...

Re: The Arte or Crafte of Rhethoryke, by Leonard Cox-mas

section 9 is edited at last! I kept noticing an intermittent echoing-ish background noise, possibly from our heater or something. but hopefully it won't be as noticeable as I thought it was? I tried some noise reduction but I don't know if it helped. https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/rheth...

Sunday or next week it is then. I'm also in central time, so we don't get any lucky benefit of midnight-for-you being conveniently earlier for me, but ah well.
Would this Thursday at about 8 work for you?
yes, that actually sounds like a perfect time. I'll put it in my calendar! :)

Re: Audiobooks (including LibriVox) in academia

I'm presenting about LibriVox again! this time at the Conference on College Composition and Communication . my slides and notes are here and the lovely voices I sampled for my example slide are all from https://librivox.org/stopping-by-woods-on-a-snowy-evening-by-robert-frost/ . Bob Gonzalez helped ...

Re: Trying out Twitch (AKA watch us edit ... ooh! ahh!)

ooh, I would love to see how the punch-and-roll thing works. when I first read about it I thought it would be similar to how I used to record in GarageBand-- but so far I haven't been able to really figure it out. this evening between 6 and 9ish would work for me to watch, or probably any evening ne...

Re: The Arte or Crafte of Rhethoryke, by Leonard Cox-mas

I'm thinking I can finish this up for the March clean-up efforts. 9 and 10 are recorded now... but they need bunches of editing. I will work on that and upload as soon as I can...
