Re: Insomnia Collection Volume 4 - tg

I've been hoping I'd have time to record something for this and I think I've finally found a spare hour this evening. I'll probably do something from the suggested New England Historical & Genealogical Register, Vol. 1, No. 3

Re: Audiobooks (including LibriVox) in academia

hello again from academia (such as it is during the summer)-- I thought I'd let you all know that I'll be "presenting" at a Humanities twitter conference this evening, talking about what digital humanities generally might learn from the awesomeness of LibriVox specifically. it's a short and unconven...

Re: Navigating the MW

actually, there is a trick I discovered a while back when I was combing through older project threads and getting my head around librivox history for my dissertation-- the iframe element that makes the MW work can be viewed as its own page if you poke around a bit. here's an example from an almost-f...

Re: Heirs have given copyright permission

for Librivox, the text needs to be 100% public domain. just having permission unfortunately may not be enough.
you can of course record it on your own, or for archive.org or some other online space, but LV can't host anything that isnt totally officially public domain.

a sweet ending, although with a pretty odd-sounding (to 21st-century ears anyway) version of feminism wrapped up in the middle there. heh.

Yeah.. Extension is just the beginning of loving others. Openness and sacrifice must be visible now for an entrance into heaven. Sadly, your response was weak. This world IS our home when we don’t care and lose our lives to build up others into the fullness of Christ.
um, what? whose response?

Re: Help with using chromebook for LV

I've been trying to look into options for working with audio on chromebooks too, because I'm gonna have to teach with them this fall. I think the only options will be online web-based programs. Soundcloud, apparently, allows recording through their web app or something? I haven't gotten too far in m...
