Re: Some Books that Aren't in the Public Domain (and why)
"Goodnight Mister Tom is a children's novel by English author Michelle Magorian, published [...] in 1981." 1981 + 92 -> public domain it the US not before 2076. And with Ms. Magorian still happily alive, anybody outside the US will likely have to wait much longer until it is public domain in their ...

Re: LibriVox 15th Anniversary Collection - tg
My greatest apology; I didn't make the time to read The Fifteenth Man, nor will I have time today. If anyone does, the version currently in Librivox is 25 minutes long.

Re: LibriVox 15th Anniversary Collection - tg
Hi May I please read a poem by Gertrude Stein from Stanzas in Meditation: Stanza 15? Also is it necessary for me to read only a single poem in a recording or can I read a few by different poets in one go? Thanks. I don't think that Stein poem is in the public domain. Do you have a text for it? It w...

It's been a long time since I uploaded to Librivox, and would happy for any criticism possible before I start a longer reading.

It may be a bit large--it definitely is for me--but may I suggest An Italian Legend of the Fifteenth Century, https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=umn.31951001624653m&view=1up&seq=281

Re: SOLO Taras Bulba by Gogol
I've been told that LibriVox doesn't accept Wikisource. Note that it's backed by https://archive.org/details/tarasbulbataleof00gogouoft Google scans at the Internet Archive, and the text can be compared word for word with the scans at https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Taras_Bulba._A_Tale_of_the_C...

Re: What caused the Detroit [1943] riot? : an analysis
The Hathi record says it's full view, and if you click on it it says it's "Public Domain in the United States". Almost certainly one of many, many things that didn't get renewed.

Re: In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust
The publication date listed on the Archive link listed in the first post of this thread is 1927 suggesting it is not PD. On closer inspection of the title page of the Archive copy I see a copywrite date of 2016! According to Wikipedia, Scott Moncrieff completed the translation of the first ...

The House of Death by Fannie Georgia Stroup
The first issue of Weird Tales (1923) has "The House of Death", by Fannie Georgia Stroup. It's about 3000 words, so it should go in one of the Short Story reads, or a read of the entire issue. I don't do much reading, and for this work, a work by a female author with female characters, I think it pr...

Re: Willing to pay for Alice in Wonderland in Spanish
According to Alice in a world of wonderlands , there was a 1914-15 abridged edition published in the weekly Los Muchachos , translated by Anonymous. That should be good in the US and world-wide. The 1927 Barcelona edition, Alicia en el pais de las maravillas was translated by Juan Gutiérrez Gili, wh...

Re: Request for more LGBT content
This doesn't appear to be in the catalogue. PD in the USA it says and often mentioned side by side with The Sins of the Cities of the Plain. Part attributed to Oscar Wilde. Nobody knows for sure. https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Teleny,_or_The_Reverse_of_the_Medal I'm sure this one has been mentioned...
