Re: Website To Find Gutenberg Texts Not Yet Recorded In Libr

Laurie Anne -- The Gutenberg catalog database I'm using has column called "rights" for each book that was either "G" or "C". It appears that "G" means public domain and "C" means copyrighted -- all the works you cited were "C", and the majo...

Re: Is there an easy way to browse what has NOT been recorde

Thanks Kara, that is fixed, audiobooks should now be ignored -- no Austen works under 2 hours anymore.

Website To Find Gutenberg Texts Not Yet Recorded In LibriVox

I made a webpage to make it easier to see what texts in Project Gutenberg have not been recorded in LibriVox yet: http://xenotropic.net/gutenovox/ It's the Project Gutenberg catalog, searchable by category (Library of Congress Subject Headings) or by author last name. When you click on the category ...

Re: [OPEN] Short Science Fiction Collection 051 -alg1001

Although duplicate recordings are welcome, personally I felt like recording something that wasn't yet on LibriVox. It took a while to find one, 'Join Our Gang?'. I had to go back and forth between the lists and searching on the LibriVox catalog. I'm a web programmer, so I decided to make a page that...

Re: Is there an easy way to browse what has NOT been recorde

Excellent points. Hadn't really paid attention to the PG license before (although I should have, I'm a lawyer!). I deleted from the filesize for the license and header (18233 bytes) and changed the conversion ratio to 900 bytes = 1 min. TriciaG's reading of The Chautauqua Girls at Home is now at 105...

Re: Is there an easy way to browse what has NOT been recorde

@RuthieG: Good question, and not something I thought of before (that a LibriVox reader would use another text when a Gutenberg text is available). The answer is different for LibriVox works based on a work that has one author (e.g., novels) and for tracks in LibriVox collections (e.g., short story c...

Re: Is there an easy way to browse what has NOT been recorde

I made a webpage to do this: http://xenotropic.net/gutenovox/ It's essentially the Gutenberg catalog; you can search for categories (Library of Congress subject headings) or by author. When you click on the category or author, it shows you all the texts, with an added column with links to Librivox r...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

I've started working on a way to combine the data from the Librivox API with Archive.org JSON data in a sqlite database. Right now it gets everything from the audiobooks and audiotracks API feeds from Librivox, and the track author information from archive.org. Source: https://github.com/xenotropic/...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Masa-san, thank you. That looks like it's a bash script, right? Is the source code for the "Then I reconstruct the database" part available? Ruth, can I help? I can't promise to do anything on any particular timetable as a volunteer developer, but if nothing is being done anyway . . . For ...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

I'm a software developer. I have started to build a php-based web utility to show what texts exist in Gutenberg but not in Librivox. My inspiration to do this came when I was trying to find something to record for the Science Fiction short stories collections, and I wanted to find a story that had n...

Is there an easy way to browse what has NOT been recorded?

Is there a way to see what works exist on Gutenberg but not in Librivox? I'm sure a lot of stuff comes up in the forums from people checking, but it just seems like it would be neat to be able to browse or search through listings of what is public domain and proofread, but hasn't been audio recorded...

Re: [OPEN] Short Science Fiction Collection 051 -alg1001

I've read, Join Our Gang? by Sterling E. Lanier -- my first librivox recording. Super fun. I brought most the blankets in the house into my home office to kill the room echo and make it a makeshift recording studio.
