Oh my gosh.... :clap: I followed these instructions and (touch wood) headset two appears to work. I am so done with this problem now omg. Fished out my Turtlebeach PX22 headset. It's an upgrade of my other one but it's just not the same... it's the other one which I used for all of my Librivox recordings so far and it's a good sound quality and I'm used to it. This one, however, doesn't need a Y...

So, my old laptop broke down some time ago. I can still use it but have it sat on a loud fan as the internal one has conked out, so this is no good for sound recording. It may be easiest to just re-record the file, I think?
It would not be too bad. It was my first recording for a long while, so a second effort might be better anyway - and it is not a long chapter.

I did this (except using the leveller because the option seems to not actually exist any more) and it did pretty much nothing. :-p but most of the settings in the topic are just the defaults anyway.

It was a long time ago when I downloaded Audacity. Since then, my laptop hard drive started refusing to boot up and nothing would change that problem.
