Re: advice on setting up for recording
Hi everyone. Now that I have recorded my first audio file, there is another question I need to ask. The piece I recorded was approximately 19 A4 pages on msword. What I find very complicated is keeping audacity open on one side and then keeping the narrative piece open at the same time and working ...

Re: LIBRIVOX NARRATOR WORKSHOP 2! [ZOOM, FEB 28]
Thanks for hosting this. I’d really like to see a nightly session for unstructured peer-to-peer mentoring and maybe one weekly session hosted by a professional voice actor for more focused coaching.

Re: Hello from.....well anywhere in the lower 48 states at any given time
Thats awesome, and I have a place I record here at the house as well, same equipment, but totally pieced together sound proofing. I know the quality isnt as good as what I can produce in the truck and use it primarily to keep up the habit of recording something daily and an occasional VO promotion ...

Re: What commercial audiobook are you listening to?
I discovered my wife's Word of Promise New King James Version CD set, which is a dramatic reading of the Bible. So, naturally, I dusted off my old optical drive, temporarily installed it on my workstation, and spent the day ripping the CDs into WAV files for study. The set also comes with a DVD show...

Add Wiki link to top of main page
The main website (https://librivox.org/) has links to: About, Contact, Forum, Help.
I propose adding "Wiki" (https://wiki.librivox.org/) after the Forum link to make the wiki easier to find.

Yes, to borrow commercial audiobooks, you need the Libby app and a local library card.

Re: How long does a given script takes to read
Hi all, it's a good length of time since I have read for LibriVox, so my question may have been asked before: Is there a method to ascertain roughly how long a given script takes to read. i.e. number of words to amount of time to read them? Many thanks in anticipation of a reply, Andy I read recent...

Re: Audio Book Narrator
Hi Winifred, The one-minute test is not an audition. We just want to make sure that contributors can meet Librivox standards before submitting longer recordings. If you are planning to do your LV recordings at home, that is where you should record your one-minute test. If you are planning to do the ...

Re: ZOOM Discussion Thread
I’m considering doing a narrator workshop on Feb 28 at 10am PST. Does that conflict with anybody’s plans? I think Librivox should have a nightly informal social virtual meeting. I’d also like to have scheduled weekly coaching sessions with our pro narrators who volunteer at Librivox. I know I could...

Re: ZOOM Discussion Thread
I’m going to do a Librivox recording this afternoon if anyone is interested in virtually looking over my shoulder and my observing my workflow in real time.
I’m not sure if anyone is that bored, but let me know if you’re interested. I’ll start at about 1 PM EDT.
