Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Silver Age by Heywood - thw

and here she is, nasty queen Aurea. If she doesn't get a PL ok right away, she will probably tell awful stories about the DPLer.

Re: OPEN[PLAY]His House in Order by Pinero - thw

(I'm sure if the puppies had understood French, they would have obeyed your every command immediately.) what do you mean, unscathed ? Have you seen the state of my dress ?!! thanks for the PL, glad y...

Re: ~[EXPLORERS]The Third Voyage of James Cook. Volume 1 -jo

Section 13: I was wondering whether the Bligh mentioned here is the same than the captain of the famous Bounty years later :hmm: Another interesting description of Kerguelen island. Led me to find online pictures of this bridge arch they described here and indeed, it cannot be missed. Unfortunately ...

Section 12 is also PL ok. Wow...footnotes within footnotes  Kudos for not getting entangled in them.

Still interesting, though all the latitude/longitude calculations are completely puzzling me. Never really understood how they calculate that by clocks.

Re: ~[EXPLORERS]The Third Voyage of James Cook. Volume 1 -jo

section 10, very interesting. I saw a movie once where this dunking of people while crossing the bar was done. Indeed a very humiliating and mean tradition. :? I have a few small pronunciation notes for your French section , which would make it easier to understand. But I know that pronunciation is ...

Re: ~[EXPLORERS]The Third Voyage of James Cook. Volume 1 -jo

two small notes for section 9 : > at 33:41 : "in ph this ical complaints" – I hear " fist ical". Tricky word indeed. The initial two letters "ph" are not voiced, it's simply pronounced " tisical ", you can have a listen here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/di...

thanks for the confirmation, Kevin :) finished section 8, only one small omission in the table (what a feat !) > at 24:51 : "Lieutenant 1 Molesworth Philips " – you omitted "Philips". I found him here: https://www.captaincooksociety.com/cooks-life/people/cooks-officers-and-crew-a...

Re: ~[EXPLORERS]The Third Voyage of James Cook. Volume 1 -jo

Hello, I see this is in need of a DPL, so I could volunteer for the job. Unless Kevin has decided to continue after all...just let me know I started with section 7 and it's perfectly and flawlessly narrated  Absolutely PL ok . I can go on with the next sections, if that's all right. Sonia

It's amazing what a decent night's sleep will do for one's voice. That, and speaking with the proper respect to one's employer. https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/townbeforeyou_ladyhoratiasservant_2.mp3 (0:28) yes indeed, this is a servant who is taking pride in his position in this househo...

What a gruesome tale of slaughter, revenge, and more slaughter :( but excellently narrated, thank yo...
