LibriSpeech- speech recognition corpus based on LibriVox
Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that a free corpus of around 1000 hours of speech, based on LibriVox's recordings, is now available at http://www.openslr.org/12/. It's a bit like VoxForge, but about an order of magnitude larger, and (IMHO) more polished(for the gory details you can see th...

[FIXED] LV Junior Classics vol. 8 - missing reader
Hi,
I believe the reader for chapter 63, which is missing both on the page(https://librivox.org/the-junior-classics-volume-8-animal-and-nature-stories-by-william-patten/) and in the data exported through LV's API is Gabriela Cowan (ID 7433).

[FIXED] The Age of Reason - incorrect chapter durations
Hi,
I believe that the lengths of the chapters are off by a factor of 60 - i.e. the number of minutes is listed as number of hours (https://librivox.org/the-age-of-reason-by-thomas-paine/).

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
One idea is to use key words like 'collection', 'stories' in the title. But this is not perfect. Does somebody have a better idea? Well, I'm still familiarizing myself with LibriVox, but maybe you can add a "collection" genre tag? I believe there are other not-quite-genres, like "dra...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
No, I don't know. Only 'will be open sourced' is announced. The date is still not given. Thank you Masa san! Unfortunately, judging from the other answers this may not happen anytime soon, so I guess we will have to work around the current semi-broken implementation of the API. The following is my ...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
Free working database software would be handy for many volunteer projects Indeed, if another project needs a web application for managing some sort of categorized items, they may at least in theory take LibriVox's code and use it as a base of their own website. And of course going open source may b...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
Perhaps we need to consider turning off the dev server API? In my opinion, at least the URLs at https://dev.librivox.org/public/temp_info/api should be changed to point to the official server, because 3 out of the top 4 results on Google for "librivox api" lead to that page(the first post...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
By the way, it seems the database used by dev.librivox.org is different from the one used by librivox.org. Compare the 'genres' info returned by https://dev.librivox.org/api/feed/audiobooks/?offset=0&limit=1&extended=1 : <genres> <genre> <id>4</id> <name>Classics (Antiquity)</name> </genre> ...
