Re: Greetings from Nekicia

I have been told throughout my life that my voice is pleasing to hear. And I want to give this gift to the world. I hope I can record some Baha'i books with Librivox. Question: If I plan to travel out of the country, would I still be able to record as an American in USA? :?: Really ni...

Re: Biographies of Muhammad

Good idea, though with a caveat. The source materials on the life of Muhammad are voluminous and disputed, providing biography writers across the centuries ample space to project their own beliefs. It's worth to keep that in mind while choosing a source. Muir's work, in particular, while displaying...

Biographies of Muhammad

I just searched for Mahomet and Muhammad, but can't see any biographies of the Prophet. Might be interesting to find one that is manageable. Muir's is in 4 volumes, so that's a bit of an epic enterprise. There are a few others though as well. Mahomet and his successors by Irving, Washington, (1783-1...

Interesting.

You can certainly set up a project to record First lessons in Chinese by M. T. Yates. I think you should post this in the Book Suggestions section.

Re: Any Authors out there?

In addition to the fiction book posted above, Green Monk of Tremn, Book I , I have also recently published a non-fiction work on attaining inner balance and equanimity in our lives. It's called Mindfulness: Five Ways to Achieve Real Happiness, True Knowledge and Inner Peace and it is the first book ...

This collection is now in the LibriVox catalog and available for listeners to download. Please check the catalog page and let me know if any changes are needed: https://librivox.org/librivox-language-learning-collection-vol-005 Thanks for that, Jo. A belated response, but better late than never. ;)

First self-published novel: Green Monk of Tremn, Book I

Dear all, As you know, I've been a bit inactive on LibriVox as of late. Mostly the distractions of life and work, etc. Sometimes work is the main distraction, sometimes life. Actually, I got rather ill a few weeks ago and had to have my appendix removed (in Saudi Arabia of all places). I'm much bett...

Re: Language Learning Collection Vol. 005 - n19

Nicholas, I notice that no readers have been added to the Magic Window in this project. In addition, I have also now made a group for the Language Learning Collections: https://librivox.org/group/584 Ruth Thanks Ruth. I've re-added the readers. I don't remember/know why they weren't there. Thanks f...

Memrise

Hi, Has anyone here tried Memrise (http://www.memrise.com/)? It's a webpage where you can join free courses to learn languages (particularly vocabulary) as well as other topics (e.g. history, philosophy, etc.). It seems really good as I've already joined a few courses and learnt lots of new words. I...

Re: Language Learning Collection Vol. 005 - n19

I'd like to read Latin for Beginners by Benjamin Leonard D'Ooge! Sorry if I'm not doing this right, but this is my first time doing a LibriVox recording. Should I just read as much as I can, or do you need only certain sections of the book? Hi and welcome! Have you done a test recording yet? If so,...
