Not exactly
The Bookshelf project has certain similarities, but is much higher tech than what I was considering. Here's what I was thinking (imagining that the quote box is a page within the Wiki. Suggested Books and Chapters American History Project: Short readings from historical documents Great Books of the ...

Poll Request - New Wiki Item
I had a thought, and since I had already communicated with Ticktockman and it was related to some stuff he's doing, I sent him the following message: From: fcoulter To: Ticktockman Posted: Fri Jul 06, 2007 9:59 am Subject: American History Project You mentioned in the podcast your American History p...

Kitabe has an interesting price point; it costs less to buy and download one book a month from Audible than it does to rent one from Kitabe. People must be willing to pay more for the physical medium, even temporarily. Librivox only tangentially competes with either site. If you want copyrighted mat...

Re: Well - yes. Or definitely maybe.
I am a non-native, and I have been contemplating of contributing somehow to the project, as I have listened to A LOT of the librivox recordings while working lately (do not ask what my job is... :D ) The problem is that I have been running to this problem trolled so eloquently by Seymour - I would ...

There really isn't enough room for a sig on a text message (100 characters). But I had planned on announcing each episode of the Podcast when published. I'm currently posting to the Renegades & WGN groups. If the work is political, I also post to the 3 political groups I normally post to. And I'...

There's a text message group (like Use.Net for cell phones) called upoc. (For more information, go to upoc.com) I've been posting the New Releases for the last week or so. Getting more people to listen to the recordings isn't a bad thing, right?
Zoom H2
Earlier I received some recommendations for recording away from my computer. One of the recommendations was the Zoom H4. While saving my money for one, I found that Zoom has announced a new product, the Zoom H2 . It looks like it has almost all the advantages of the H4, in a smaller package. It's al...

Windows
What kind of computer are you using? If you are using an up to date Microsoft Windows based computer, then you may be able to change the tags within Windows Explorer, software you've already got on your computer. This is how I can do it with Windows XP. Find the file using Windows Explorer. Right cl...

Graphics
Inserting a small graphic is bad enough. But I visit a site where the sig graphics are wider than the screen, and half of them are animated.
I'm glad I haven't been on a dial up connection in a long time. (Except on my cell phone, and if I browse the web on it, I deserve what I get.)

I am not sure if thios is the right forum, but what the hay? I have finished a recording of Plato's Apology which I will upload as soon as I figure it out. Fr. Zeile Great. The next step is to list it in the Solo Projects thread. Don't forget to reference your source so that the Powers That Be can ...

Whole Book
Just because the Reading Plan has a piece of a work, I'd plan on doing the whole work. Not the whole Volume (Plato's book has a whole crap load of stuff in it) but the entire piece as published in PG. I know that PG has the Apology as a separate work, but I doubt they split the Republic up into piec...
