Hi all! Not new, but coming back after a loooooong hiatus

Hi all, Seems like my last visit here was about 10 years ago. My, how time flies!! I had finished school and started with life, moved apartments, and never had the time to put my recording setup back together. Now I'm taking some time off work, and figured I'd check up on you guys. And I'm happy to ...

Re: ~[FRENCH: POETRY] Les Chants de Maldoror by Lautréamont

Nadine, est-ce-que tu pourrais prendre en charge le projet, s'il te plaît? J'ai un peu de difficulté à mettre Librivox dans mon horaire ces jours-ci.

Re: Browsers for Windows

it's been a while since i've used chrome, but if it doens't support plugins, yet, you can still do some adblocking by installing the adblock.ini file. Just google it, and save the file to the right directory. also, if you don't like the spying, you can try SRWare Iron, which is Chrome without the tr...

Re: Synthetic voices from Librivox recordings

I think there's a difference between knowing on an intellectual level what public domain means, and being faced with the practical implications of it.

Hi Yuli,
Sorry for taking so long to set up this project.

I'm not sure what the uploader does if you don't specify an MC. It might just ditch the file. I'd much rather have a warning if you don't select it, but Tis is working hard enough as it is...

Re: Kindle, Nook, Kobo etc

Only problem is that it seems quite hard to get PDF's displayed well; the default zoom possibilities are 150%, 200% ... it is not possible to enter a percentage oneself. Yeah, I agree. I once had a book in PDF, landscape, 2 (book) pages per PDF page. It was a major pain to read, especially since no...

Re: New Forum Login Issue

Yeah, DNS servers are like a phone book, which an internet routing server can consult for an IP address, much like "I'm looking for Librivox.org, I don't know where it is, tell me where to find it". I guess the DNS server checks at regular times whether the IP matches the URL, then updates...

Re: Kindle, Nook, Kobo etc

So Amazon didn't give me trouble, and they'll send a new Kindle with a return label for the broken one. There was a bit of a snag because the shipping address is different than the previous one's (bf had it shipped to a friend's place in NYC) and the lady had trouble changing it. Other than that, it...
