Re: Ingersoll on WALT WHITMAN, from the Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - ag

I searched for you in the Librivox Collection the Internet Archive and it came up with more things than the catalog does so it may be pulling up things you BCed without reading for. 266 projects in the archive, and 216 projects in the catalog. https://archive.org/search.php?query=msfry Well that's ...

Re: Ingersoll on WALT WHITMAN, from the Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - ag

Section 9, Religion is PL OK. Love the statement that Whitman "does not believe that Nature has given her last message to man. He does not believe that all has been ascertained. He denies that any sect has written down the entire truth." I've felt that way all my life, and come to abjure the know-it...

Re: Ingersoll on WALT WHITMAN, from the Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - ag

Amy, if I BC a project but don't read any of the sections, will that project come up in a search with my name? That doesn't happen with the MC, DPL or Cover maker.

Jubal Harshaw never watched TV unless he had to. He would roll the little B&W on the cart out of the closet.
In 1960, most of us rolled our little B&W TVs around on a cart (one per household)!!! I bet he'd have a smart phone now!!!!!!!!

Re: Ingersoll on WALT WHITMAN, from the Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - ag

E. gets a bad rap. Here's a translation from one of his 'letters.' "When we say, then, that pleasure is the end and aim, we do not mean the pleasures of the prodigal or the pleasures of sensuality, as we are understood to do by some through ignorance, prejudice, or willful misrepresentation. By ple...

Re: Ingersoll on WALT WHITMAN, from the Works of Robert G. Ingersoll - ag

Section 2 is PL OK, and quite interesting even though not racy. Thank you. I didn't know Epicurus came up with "Happiness is the only good". I thought it was Ingersoll! At least the Colonel completed it this way: "Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here...

Re: Get to know you better

That's deep, and will take some time to drill down and grok it all. Quarantine is a good time for that! That's the second time in a month someone has used that verb. GROK, a term invented by Robert Heinlein in his 1960's sci fi book, Stranger In A Strange Land (verb) · to understand (some...

Seems I'm in a small LV minority of folks with tats. Judging by our carefully selected sample pool of participants.
One day I'll get up the courage to ask someone why they have tats, because I don't understand. But not now . . . unless you care to share.

Hi.
Is it too early to ask for Humanity and Individuality?
This is not philosophical rhetoric, I just want to read those sections.
Sure. When I get a MW, I'll put you in for 5 INDIVIDUALITY and 6 HUMANITY. You can go ahead and record if you wish.
