Sweet Ermengarde needs some edits. The file is in stereo and needs to be in mono. There needs to be 5 seconds of silence on the end of the recording and need to add the ID3 tags when you export the file. I can mono-ify and append silence to Sweet Ermengarde. And I attempted to edit the ID3 tags aft...

I just today "refound" LibriVox and that GoogleDoc, and went in to edit that document some more. Sent Seth and Ben a shout to see where the project stands today, but looks like perhaps it's now in the hands of FriscoSquid. Hi Paul! Sorry I never got back to your email. But no, Ben and I n...

WishList: I don't have much of a wishlist yet, but I did get a short list earlier today from a kindergarten teacher that I put on Laptop.org's wiki. If any of you would like to contribute to the list email me or contribute here: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Librivox Starlite: I think that I had heard t...

I am now the person collecting speex audiobooks for the OLPC project. I got started by Crazybus, but he's been busy as of late. So I'm wondering about the next step in this process. Getting everything in speex, hopefully automated.

Entire Librivox Archive in a new codex

Hi, I am putting together several books from the Librivox project, and transcoding them into Speex format for children via the One Laptop Per Child Project. It makes a lot of sense for Librivox recordings to be in Speex. It's smaller than ogg (ogg-vorbis), since it's optimized for voice. It's also s...

Kara: Included in the G1G1 package is a $200 tax break and a year of T-mobile hotspot wifi, if that sweetens the deal for you at all. $400 is pretty expensive. Re: grograph.ork.uk I hadn't seen that. It gives me some interesting ideas: That is something that is totally reproducible in our target sch...

One Laptop Per Child: Now with Librivox Recordings

The laptop from the OLPC, the XO, will ship with several audiobooks from Libribox in speex format. Hi everyone, I'm a sometime Librivox contributer and an advocate to everyone I meet. Lately I've been volunteering with the One Laptop Per Child Project [/u] . The OLPC project is an attempt to create...

"Dromiceius" will do. As for the URL, http://dromiceius.blogspot.com If anyone's curious about my progress, I did a test reading of chapter 45 a few days ago. It needs work, but there should be something finished before long. Hopefully. Don't be discouraged. I had a heck of a time ...

Well done, Seth. I cut out 14 seconds of silence from the beginning. I've also updated the thread in Going Solo; please have a look there - It would be easier for me if we could keep these conversations in the thread - simpler to keep track of things. :) Good luck with the project - you do pick the...
