Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 071 - jo

Hi Andrea, It's LibriVox policy to read the text as it appears on the page. The way I look at these instances where I think the text is probably in error about a date as you point out, the casual listener probably won't notice. And a serious researcher is going to follow the LibriVox link back to t...

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 071 - jo

Hi Sue, here's the article: https://archive.org/details/photoplayvolume22425chic/page/40 I would end on pg. 114 with "There must be something to credit to that famous old formula of some brains and a lot of hard work." The rest of the article has some interesting info, but I want to focus on Mary's...

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 071 - jo

Hi Sue,

I found a magazine article that I'm thinking of recording, but I would only want to record about half of it.

Can I do that? Or would I have to record the whole thing?

Thanks for your help,
Andrea

Here's the latest link to the Checker download for LV. Try it. https://cgjennings.ca/checker.html I use Windows 10, and before that Windows 7 and before that XP, on both Satellite and HP laptops, and all showed the Background Noise feature. This IS a mystery. Just tried it and no dice. So I don't k...

My version of Checker is Checker, version 0.96 There is nothing in the results window below Clipped Audio. Same version I use. You tried the slider bar to the right? I have never had any version of Checker that did not display Background Noise right below Clipped Audio. Maybe expand the window by p...

Re: Coffee Break Collection 23 -- Mysteries, Riddles and Conundrums - lt

Would you happen to know why Checker isn't showing the background noise level on the new computer? Thank you, Andrea Hi Andrea, perhaps you could try reinstalling Checker. Sometimes the install isn't "clean". I don't think they would put out a version that didn't measure background noise. And be su...
