Re: Question about BCing and DPLing

Yeah. I'll just send them a PM. That's exactly what I just wanted to suggest  It happened to me that I was DPL and the BC disappeared. I asked with PN what to do and the DPL was fine with me to put the claims in and such things. As this BC was really busy, I grew into the habit of BCing and...

This is before you hit the "record" button, right, Mark? :P
If he uses Audacity, I guess that it's even before starting the Program

Re: Warm up exercises

Warm up? What for? I never warm up before I read to a friend, so why should I do that before I record?

Re: One minute test

That's the charm!

PL OK
, go and have fun recording "real stuff" ;)

If you ever happen to have a recording where you can't get into the range of volume, keep "compressor" in mind ;)

Re: 1 minute test

Welcome at LibriVox, Ruta :) Nice clear reading  There are only some technical glitches. Unfortunately I can't help you with Garageband (from what I know most have given up on that program and edit in Audacity now, as it seems kind of impossible to get Garageband to export in mono). But I know...

Re: One minute test

Welcome at LibriVox, Aretha :) Beautiful reading  There are only some technical things to look at, but don't worry, it is not much, you're almost there :) Sample rate is at 48.000 Hz, we need 44.100 Hz. You can set the project rate in the lower left corner of Audacity, there is a pull-down men...

Re: 1 minute test

Welcome at LibriVox, Michael :) Your test is PL OK on the first run  To perfect your recordings, you can have a look at the noise; I am hearing something that sounds like a fan in the background. It is not bad and at a low frequency, so it doesn't really harm. If you want to work on it, it i...

Re: Equipment question

For headphone I do not recomend earbuds. I find that they are hard to here everything. So I guess it just has to be tried out. For me it is just the other way round - if it aren't really good (and expensive  ) headphones, I am better off with earbuds. I am thinking of in-ears, like those: htt...

Re: Equipment question

I've been dithering around for months about jumping in. The problem is the equipment. I was told I need a mike, and the Samson Qu2 ( I think I've got that right; I'm doing that by memory) was recommended. Places like Amazon have a million different sellers of this stuff. So, one question. Do I need...

Re: [OPEN]World's Story 7: Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland - kit

I am somehow missing the end disclaimer on section 32 :hmm: but it came to my mind that I could at least give you the women for Tell. I put some longish pauses in there in order that you find the file
