Re: Gauging Interest - Mueller Report [LAUNCHED]

I usually just read the abbreviations as they appear on the page, and most people have a good idea of what "et cetera" and "e.g." and "i.e." mean even if they don't know the Latin, but now that I've looked all these up, I might substitute the English meaning going forward, especially on the less fa...

Re: Gauging Interest - Mueller Report [LAUNCHED]

On the citations within the text, I think it's fair to quote chapter and verse. i.e. 18 USC § 951 (a) should, technically, be read as Title 18 United States Code Section 951, subsection (a). ... No different than a bible verse, really. This is the way it's done in the legal field. Instead of John 3...

Re: Gauging Interest - Mueller Report

Okay, I've got it posted as a new group project on the launch pad. I haven't created a new project in almost a decade, so I'm eager to get back into the game. :-) Nice one! As for the redacted parts, I have a suggestion: there are two tags that show up most of the time, HOM and IT. I think to avoid...

Re: Gauging Interest - Mueller Report

I read somewhere that Audible's version might actually be automated, so not real people. And I agree that the fact that other versions exist doesn't mean we shouldn't do a LV version. For what it's worth, I echo the encouragement for Foon to go ahead and BC so we can get this moving. It might be a l...

Re: Gauging Interest - Mueller Report

Hi all,

I am up for reading for this. We should get going soon so we can have it ready asap! ZOOOOM!

EDIT: I’ve just seen that Audible’s free version is currently slated to drop on the 30th. Wow, that is fast.

Re: Long magazine piece

Thanks for the clarification. Well, that is what I would expect to see re: author and title, so all is good. Thanks for the detective work!

Re: Long magazine piece

The link I posted above gives the author's name. (Sorry to be mysterious.) Hi Kevin, That's what I thought your link must be when I first saw it, but when I clicked on it I didn't see anything that appeared relevant. I wonder if you see something different to me (I don't know if google books shows ...

Re: Long magazine piece

Thanks, Ava. I am 100% certain who the author is. It is the account of a trip to Greece by a friend of Oscar Wilde. Wilde and their teacher accompanied him on the trip. Wilde wrote letters, and the teacher wrote his own account. And no Wilde biographer has ever suggested anyone else wrote it. So it ...

Long magazine piece

I have a couple of questions about a magazine piece I would like to read. https://archive.org/details/blackwoodsmagaz123edinuoft/page/550 It's too long for the short non-fiction collection (estimated 2.5 hrs). Would it be normal to submit this as a separate solo project, even though I am not going t...

Re: [PLAY]A Woman is a Weathercock by Nathan Field-mas

Bhavya, Narrator Acts 1,2,5 PL OK -- Thank you! DP The error is still here. At 20, you say "and ABOW few or none will bestow on these matters" instead of "and ABOVE few or..." Act 3 Sorry, I asked for a fix in Act 2 at 0.25 ("Enter Pouts above" I hear 'abow' instead of 'above') but it is actually i...

Re: [PLAY]A Woman is a Weathercock by Nathan Field-mas

Hi Bhavya, Thanks again. Acts 3 and 4 are PL OK, and there are just a few small things I will ask you to change in the other files. DP 0.20 "And above" I hear 'abow'. You say it the same way in Act 2, so perhaps this is a pronunciation difference, but I think some listeners might not recognise the w...

Re: [PLAY]A Woman is a Weathercock by Nathan Field-mas

Hello, Here are my files for narrator: ... Thanks, Bhavya Hi Bhavya, Thanks! It's not necessary to put the 128kb thing at the end because your recordings won't be uploaded to the Internet Archive as they are (I will edit them together with everyone else's recordings and then export the final acts w...
