Re: [SOLO] Bicycling for Ladies by Maria E. Ward -jo

(2) Avoid ruts parallel to your direction of travel: The time I took a tumble as an adult (which earned me a precautionary ride to the hospital in an ambulance...

Re: [SOLO] Bicycling for Ladies by Maria E. Ward -jo

Just checking in to say - Sorry I haven't yet begun recording for this project. Just one thing after another has been taking up my time this month. My car died, and I've been trying to buy another, while finding rides to work. Meanwhile, my guy Brian ended up hospitalized, and I've been spending eve...

Re: 'Thank You' messages for LibriVox readers - continued

Hello Maria, Thank you so very much for reading an entire book! Such a generous undertaking for people you do not know. I find it difficult to listen sometimes, when books are read by many. The change in volume, tempo and microphone quality is often very noticeable and painful (to my head and ears)...

Re: This week's scientific quiz

Haha! When is the book sale? What?! SELL my books?! NEVER! I will keep them till they collapse the house! HaHa indeed! However, in the interests of not collapsing the house, I have sworn off buying any more books. Not one new book. For the past decade, I have resisted even the temptation of library...

Re: ~ [SOLO] Bicycling for Ladies by Maria E. Ward -jo

All set here. MW is up and I added Tricia as DPL. Also found this link which states a date of death of 1941 and has some neat old pictures. https://statenisland.pastperfectonline.com/byperson?keyword=Ward%2C+Maria+E.&page=1 Thanks! I'll fill in the MW this evening. And hurrah on finding the death d...

Yes, please DPL. Tricia!
(I don't bike anymore, due to bad arthritis, but I got around town on my bike for years when I was younger!)

Re: This week's scientific quiz

Our next scientific quiz (or poll) may involve the greatest number of books that can be safely stacked one on top of the other. You mean something like this? https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgjrit4yjpigg1t/Capture.JPG?dl=0 (Those leaning stacks have been leaning at roughly that same angle for months, and...
