I'd like to claim chapters 23 - Gissing and 24 - A Dialogue. I found them cleverly amusing.

Re: One Book A Week Club 2018

The wind blowing through the pine trees is a comfort sound for me. Also the spring peeper frogs singing at night is a sound that has SO many good memories associated with it that it is high on my list as well.

Re: One Book A Week Club 2017
I read 102 books last year and don't think I can maintain that kind of pace this year. I'm aiming for 50 this year. 01. Known to Evil by Walter Mosley - Second Leonid McGill mystery. This book left me largely unimpressed. Very one dimensional and formulaic By the time we got to the end, I didn't car...

Yep! 17 books to go. I'll probably not set the bar quite so high next year, or at least not tackle so many 700+ page novels as part of the challengeJ_N wrote:Everyone on track with their reading goals for this year?

I do not like the word oubliette. Why give a dank, scary dungeon a title that sounds like an obscure dance move, or a fancy bath fixture?

I hope I never grow too old for a good fantasy book! I started the first novel in that series but never finished it. I'll need to revisit it.Carolin wrote:i have a huge book-hangover from canavan's the magician's guild. i havent enjoyed fantasy so much in a long time (i was afraid i was getting too old)
