Re: New, web-based version of "Librivox Explorer" now availa

This is really cool and useful! I'm glad you find it useful!! 8-) Is there a way to search? My intention was to add a search bar in the header section, but alas, I ran out of time for this project. Since I'm now intensely engaged in a completely unrelated huge project for at least the next 3 to 4 m...

Re: New, web-based version of "Librivox Explorer" now availa

Made one enhancement recently to the new website ( https://libexp.herokuapp.com/ ): When you click the "NEW" button, you will be shown the 120 most recently released audiobooks in the collection (instead of a measly 48).

Re: New, web-based version of "Librivox Explorer" now availa

Hi Elizabeth, Actually, I'm just doing a quick "drive-by drop-off" of this new website before I engage in some intense (60-80 hour workweeks) data engineering work for the next few months, starting in early September. After than, my hope/intention is to get back into both early music and L...

Re: New, web-based version of "Librivox Explorer" now availa

BTW, if you'd like to go straight to the "Random browse" page (my personal favorite), you can bookmark the page:

https://libexp.herokuapp.com/audiobooks/random

Every time you go there, you'll be presented with 30 randomly selected audiobooks from the Librivox collection.

New, web-based version of "Librivox Explorer" now available

A new, minimalist version of "Librivox Explorer" (a desktop application that I put out several years back) is now available in your browser (with a "responsive" design that should make it just as viewable on your smartphone or tablet as it is on your desktop): https://libexp.hero...

Re: Play Suggestions

Dan, what text source did you use for the lyrics? I consulted a number of sources. (I got into that habit when doing the research for my recording of "On the Nature of Things".) Is there any particular Shakespeare source you'd prefer me to go with? (It's very easy to make amendments to th...

Re: One Act Plays and Other Collections - Planning Thread

Please hold off a bit on it. The admins are discussing whether or not it violates the text policy (no self-published works). We allow people to make up tunes in a one-off situation, but having a whole project with tunes one person composed and posted on Archive is something we need to discuss. :) I...

Re: Play Suggestions

Some tunes that I wrote for the songs in a few of Shakespeare's plays are now in the PUBLIC DOMAIN on the Internet Archive -- very suitable for use in LibriVox productions: https://archive.org/details/ShakespeareScores Dan, what text source did you use for the lyrics? Re: One Act Plays and Other Collections - Planning Thread

Hey Dan, if admin says no to a single Shakespeare song project, I'll launch a Shakespeare play that uses your music in it! (That's clearly within LV rules.) Which one has the most songs? Hey Beth, By far the one with the most music is TWELFTH NIGHT (and yes, I would love to play the role of the Foo...

Re: One Act Plays and Other Collections - Planning Thread

Also, I haven't yet researched to see what other settings of Shakespeare songs there may be in the public domain! Given that there might be impediments to the use of my settings of Shakespeare songs in a collection (like, I'm not dead yet ), I put the search for other such settings to the top...

Re: One Act Plays and Other Collections - Planning Thread

You'd get a better response if you started a thread in the Suggestions forum, in my opinion. It's not really one act play planning. :) He's also posted it to the Play Suggestions thread - on the grounds that it isn't a DR either! Since it's Shakespeare (loosely speaking) I'd say Play Suggestions is...

(Re)posting this here to gauge the potential interest in a Shakespearean songs collection.
