Re: ~ [OPEN] Short Story Collection Vol. 054 - rg

Good news. The last section of Bezhin Meadow in my teading is the Constance Garnett translation. I've just had a peek at the credits for the Dell book. Now I just have to re-read the earlier sections.

Re: ~ [OPEN] Short Story Collection Vol. 054 - rg

I can always do the reading again. That is no problem. I'll go to Gutenberg in future. I didn't realie copyright would be an issue- but of course this is a translation....

Re: ~ [OPEN] Short Story Collection Vol. 054 - rg

I don't have a URL for the text source. I will have to locate it. Can you give me a little time.

Re: ~ [OPEN] Short Story Collection Vol. 054 - rg

The text source was from 2 books. I chose the sections from each where I like the translations best. They were Penguin Classics 'Ivan Turgenev - Sketches from a Hunter's Album (most of the reading) and 'Great Russian Short Stories' by Dell, Laurel Edition. (The final third of the reading) The runnin...

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Hello all,
I'll adjust the volume with a limiter and see if I can't find the correct place for Guero to see the post.

Sorry for the long silence but I've been very busy.

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

The mono/stereo is fixed- as is the bit rate (now 128). I used Apple's Compressor to do this. The file is posted in the Short Poetry section.

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

I'll get the technical issues sorted out and post to the poetry section. I didn't mean to cost you money. Please delete the file.

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

I've done a new mix of 'The Raven'. Barely any different than the first. But this time in mono, less reverb, and the LibriVox titles and disclaimers added. Let me know what you think. I'm presently working on Bezhin Meadow which is pretty long- so it'll take a while to get right. And then... maybe s...

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Sadly I felt as though ditching my Audiobooks app was the only solution and re-building my library. Does anyone have an iPhone app they can recommend for accessing and listening to LibriVox material?

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Ah ha! I've noticed the 'Books' section in iTunes on my desktop Mac. It has a couple of LibriVox recordings in there. 'Moby Dick' and 'Fanny Hill'. But not 'Heart of Darkness' and a few others. I must investigate. Thanks for the information. Nevertheless my cycle rides are going to be a pain with Mi...

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Thanks for the pointer David- but my version of Audiobooks, which I believe is the latest, doesn't appear to have a '2x' box in the top right hand corner. I would delete the app but I think it will take all my Audiobooks data with it. I've never scene the Eisenstein movie. I really should. I believe...
