[FIXED] Sky Island by L. Frank Baum

I wanted to post this comment I received from a user: I downloaded Sky Island by L. Frank Baum read by Judy Bieber. It appears that chapters 18 and 19 are reversed. At the end of what says Chapter 18 her audio says Chapter 19 and vice versa for Chapter 19 is 18. Plus it doesnt make sense as far as s...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Hi Joe, I took your page for a spin, and it looks great! I think it will be a helpful addition to the project. As a fellow developer, I guess I have to echo what you have already heard - the API doesn't really work, and isn't getting much attention. The two ways to get more complete data would be to...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Sorry to be a bit slow in replying, but for the anyone who is still following this thread, the best way to integrate librivox into a web site may be to use the RSS feeds. You can find them at: https://librivox.org/pages/librivox-feeds/ I did a quick google on wordpress / rss and found: http://wordpr...

[FIXED] Mislabled ch. in Adventures of Huckleberry Finn v.2

One of my users just reported to me that chapter 24 in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (version 2) (https://librivox.org/the-adventures-of-huckleberry-finn-by-mark-twain-version-2/) is mislabled as chapter 34. Another note that he makes that is probably harder to fix is: The other mistake I notic...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my impression is that the API is essentially broken, and there is no immediate effort being made to fix it. You can read the rest of this thread to learn about other problems. Hopefully, it will eventually get the attention it needs.

[Fixed]Books that are missing chapter links

I have been through the whole catalog, and found the following books and chapters didn't have links on the website. I think this is the complete list (it doesn't include those that we fixed earlier) All chapters of Las Fábulas de Esopo, Vol. 5 [fixed] All chapters of Las Fábulas de Esopo, Vol. 3 [fi...

Re: [FIXED] Missing links to audio files

Found one more - all the audio files seem to be missing from: http://librivox.org/alices-adventures-in-wonderland-abridged-version-3-by-lewis-carroll/ At least it's a shorter book, though!

Re: [FIXED] Missing links to audio files

Great! I found one other - probably not the most popular book in the catalog, but http://librivox.org/microphone-showdown-i-wandered-lonely-as-a-cloud-by-william-wordsworth/ is missing files for some (not all) of its chapters. See, for example: M-Audio Pulsar II small condenser mic through a Focusri...

[FIXED] Missing links to audio files

I noticed that the catalog doesn't have any links to audio files for this book:

http://librivox.org/zwei-marchen-by-theodor-storm/

I haven't noticed any other similar problems, but if I do, I'll add them to this thread.

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

I am working away at importing things, and I've noticed some oddities in some of the RSS URLs - it looks as though some things haven't been implemented in the script that generates them. For example, with librivox.org/rss/2763, I see the following missing items: <genre><!-- project element=Genre -->...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Hi Bart, I thought I'd ping you and see if you had a sense of what additional changes might be coming down the pike (particularly, whether we will have access to genre data and a sortby=recent field.) I'm trying to figure out if I should work with the API as it is, or hold off for some more changes....

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Thanks, Bart! Please keep us posted. Since the old API went down, a lot of us have been holding our breath waiting for something we can use.

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread

Dan: The way I get them is to use the RSS feeds. I don't know if there will be a way to get them through the new API. Of course, Archive.org also has its own API, so you can gather info from there without using the Librivox API at all.
