Sorry this is going so slowly. I'm still here, though and should be able to work on the next section soon.

Re: Finding Solo Works

If science fiction is of interest, for your next project you could look at this list:

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Science_Fiction_Novels

or some of the short or shortish stories reached via the links at the top of the page.

You're not the only one. That was confusing me as well. Thanks for the info.

Re: Only hitting 4000hz and below

This does not look right, and I would definitely want to be following this up. With an AT2020 you should be recording frequencies of up to around 20,000Hz, and yes, the higher frequencies do make a difference, especially for those listening on decent headphones. You haven't said whether this has sta...

Re: replay/gain problem Mac (Mojave)

I've now updated the wiki page on ReplayGain with the latest installation instructions:

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Measuring_Volume_within_Audacity

All feedback is welcome, including Windows users as I haven't had a chance to try out the Windows instructions myself.

The path in Linux would be:
/home/USERNAME/.audacity-data/Plug-Ins
Thanks moniaqua. I've added Linux. Could you check it looks OK?

New 2019 instructions for installing ReplayGain in Audacity

The Audacity developers seem to keep changing things, and our wiki instructions for installing the ReplayGain plugin had become very out of date. I've updated the page, and the new instructions for both Mac and Windows can be found here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Measuring_Volume_wit...

Re: replay/gain problem Mac (Mojave)

The following worked for me, running MacOS 10.14.2 Mojave with the latest version of Audacity, 2.3.0. When you install Audacity on Mojave you may get a warning message saying that the program will not work on future versions of MacOS. That can be ignored. Hopefully by the time Apple goes beyond Moja...

Thanks for the comments on the background noise in tracks 2,3 and 4. I've re-edited those and have re-uploaded them under the same names: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/rhymeandreason_02_carroll_128kb.mp3 https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/rhymeandreason_03_carroll_128kb.mp3 https://librivox.o...

Re: replay/gain problem Mac (Mojave)

Did you manage to install replay/gain on Mojave, in the end? If not, I can look into it for you. I had the same problems as you, but did manage to get it going in the end after some lengthy fiddling. Can't now remember what I did of the top of my head: I think the file has to be put in some unexpect...

Re: FULL [PLAY] An Ideal Husband, Oscar Wilde - kit

... Act 1 missing narrator: "to duchess of maryborough" ... Odd. I recorded this as requested, and can see where it appears in the stage directions, but the name appears nowhere else, and there is no-one of that name in the cast list. Maybe this is an oddity with the Gutenberg version, as if you do...
