OK, just some ideas. I wish the best to the new developer. He/she has a lot of work cut out for them.

Re: Ideas for the new LV website (and forum?)
Anne, No rebuff taken :) I like constructive feedback. The board is really much the same in most ways. It just appeared to be "cleaner" and less cluttered looking. It could just be a personal preference in style. I just assumed it was therefore an upgrade, which it may or may not be. As fo...

Ideas for the new LV website (and forum?)
I know LV has plans for a new website, so here are a couple of suggestions. First, I was browsing another community form just like this one, and noticed a different interface. The board is hosted/made by the same provider, phpBB. It's virtually the same, but looks like a newer version. I'm wondering...

Re: Ideas For Promoting LibriVox & Enhancing Our Videos
Well, not to be insensitive, but I would guess that videos would be pretty useless to a blind person anyhow. I'm not sure how you would make media instructions for a blind person. Telling them where to click and such.

Last night I typed a long response to some of the questions here, but then when I hit "submit", my internet connection dropped and I lost the message...so here we go again. I'll answer Phil and Esther's questions/comments: Phil: -Let's go with putting a picture/image with the title in big ...

Dion: Not to worry about the nerves. I'm new too and I've noticed I have become more and more relaxed with the more recordings I do. I would bet that some of the more seasoned narrators here might be totally embarrassed about their first recordings, yet now they have voices of silk. We all have to s...

10 - Great Christ Is Dead http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ck/satiresprofanities_10_thomson.mp3 12:55 This was my first recording with a new mic, so please feel free to give feedback. I have a pop filter, but couldn't decide if some of my P's were popped or not. Also, my dB level was 88.6. I...

Re: For Admins: Ideas For Promoting LibriVox
Thank you all so very much. You've helped me to better understand the functions and how things happen beyond the day to day. You really all have been so nice to work with and I'm glad you didn't take my words as being critical. Speaking of having an idea and running with it, I've been working with P...

Re: For Admins: Ideas For Promoting LibriVox
I fear that my message has been poorly communicated, so with sincerity I apologize if I have caused offense. I am truly astounded at the progress LibriVox has made in the 5+ years. It is definitely a most unique and wonderful project which I am glad to have found. However, the point that the admins ...

Re: For Admins: Ideas For Promoting LibriVox
Yes...very exhausting! There's so much work out there!! It's the bitter-sweet part of the growth of a non-profit venture. So, I have to confess that I'm fascinated with organizational growth, especially among web phenomena. What took Wikipedia from a little volunteer-based operation to a website whi...

For Admins: Ideas For Promoting LibriVox
Admins, As admins, I'm not sure how often you have virtual meetings among yourselves and LibriVox leadership, but if you do, here are some more ideas to create more public awareness and volunteer recruitment: Ask volunteers to reach out to their local media for coverage This is something I've been w...

April...TOO funny. You made this insomniac laugh so loud he almost woke the neighbors! Carolin, I happened to notice that I am assigned section 15, but don't remember requesting it. Since I've been on drugs for a herniated disc, I thought I had better see if I requested something that I didn'...

Carolin and Group, Two things... 1) The mic I had laying around when I joined LibriVox is analog, so I decided to do a slight upgrade. Has anyone had experience with the Samson Go Mic? I'm excited to give it a try: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001R76D42/ref=oh_o02_s00_i01_details 2) I would be ...

Very strange...in fact this is the second time today where a previously posted message either doesn't show up correctly or at all!
Thanks for the hints though. I will hold off until the end of the project. Just had a few options I wanted to get some feedback on.
